IDEAS: HOW TO: Create a simple ACEO display

Sometimes sellers send purchasers ACEOs in 'top loaders'. These are rigid cases for ACEOs/trading cards. These can easily be made into a way of displaying ACEOs, inexpensively. 'Top loaders - trading cards' can easily be bought on ebay (search). All you need to do is go to art, craft or hardware store and buy magnets, and possibly 'magnetic paint'. I bought 4 magnets with a sticky tape to adhere. You can buy all manner of magnets. If no tape you can hot glue gun them onto the back of the toploader...

This magnet is fairly thick, you can get slimmer ones. Then you just need something metal to put it on - refrigerator, Filing cabinet, metal furniture - OR you can use the magnetic paint, and paint a board, or item with it, then put a color over it, then display the filled toploader on it. HAVE FUN! :) You have an inexpensive ACEO display! Quick and easy to make. ~Jillian

Jillian...I will let you know..I am thinking the ashtray will become a water well, the cupholder a paint pallet, and if I mount my ACEO card to the drivers side outside mirror just think how that will cut down the dry time! If I should get arrested I will request one e-mail to you all will you all bail me out? Laughing ... Jane P.S. Has anyone ever tried painting in Handcuffs? lol

Well, I must admit to having painted/drawn in my car a multitude of times. When drawing houses (I did 9,000+ of them) I bought a station wagon and set up a low coffee table in the back and would sit there to sketch sometimes. It also had a sturdy roof, as had to climb up onto it sometimes to view or take photos. I have sat on the roof to draw (on a stool). My car had to have a tight turning circle so could turn quickly if I went past a house. Had to be room between me and the steering wheel for a sketch pad. My passenger side seat was always my 'office'. My son, although grown and now married STILL tells everyone how he used to beg and beg to be allowed to sit and ride in the front with Mummy, instead of in the back seat.

I didn't have air conditioning. On days when I knew it would be over 100 degrees I would set off before dawn. I sometimes went out at night and shone headlights on houses and carried a powerful torch (flashlight). I've had to crawl through windows and over fences. I truly could write a book. Keys would be left out for me (I did the floor plans, too). I would knock, and if no answer I'd let myself in. More than once, I got to the bedroom & found out why they were too 'busy' to answer the doorbell. I've had to call snake control. I've fallen fully dressed, in winter, into a lake. HA!

Jillian you should write a book ;-) It would be a collectors item too ...to go with your art ;-) Belinda :-) PS. Do it as an e-book in your store ...your art collectors would be able to buy it and download it in an instant ....mmmmmmm would we want to be that exposed????
Regards,
Belinda 🙂

I worked for myself, freelance, for many, many land agents. They were commissioned by the real estate agents so all were pre-sold. I did them over a period of 15 years. Most times I did between 20-30 a week. Closer to 20 was more 'usual'. But there were also periods when I did few or none. The week I did 30 nearly killed me, I had 10 hours sleep, total, from 6am Monday Morning until noon, Saturday. I would travel about 60 miles in a day, going to each one, doing a quick sketch (I learnt to memorize them - I would be there, and gone in 2-3 minutes, tops, unless I had to measure up the rooms to do floor plans. So, besides the sketches, I usually did floor plans, too. Usually about 2 out of 3 required floor plans. I could measure up a house in less than 15 minutes. At one stage I was also a photographer for houses, and video'd them, too.
