That is correct. And you're right - sometimes you can score some awesome deals, and you never know what people find and list, so on occasion, it's worth a shot.
My best deal was from a brand new seller, seemed to be cleaning out the attic of his grandfathers toys(or great grandfather, since all were 1880's toys. Someone won the 1880's painted tin trains, didn't pay for a week, and relisted them - to end at 1 pm during the day. This was years ago. I rebid and won all of 3 them for less than my bid the first time on just one of them. And got a bonus of 11 early platform toys when I opened the box. That was all they listed after that. I screwed up and missed the Carpenter brake that ended up at 690.00. 10 or 12 years later I still kick myself sometimes for that.
So you just never know what it hiding out there, even if the auction has a reserve. It's a shame to see them waste money, but you never know what the reserve is if you just hit the back button.

I don't use active scripts, but I can just imagine all the people who don't read this update are going to come to the boards this summer furious at how all of their listings were removed without warning.
So does that mean the jumping, flashing, dancing babies, cats, dogs, etc. will be gone? If so ...

I read it the other way: The only changes would be the price changes shown in the chart.
The discussion board opened up while I was checking on when it would open up, so I asked about it.

We’ve heard from
thousandsDOZENS of sellers who want to promote the eBay brand and grow their business on eBay. Shipping your items with the eBay logo on tape, boxes or mailers is a great way todrive consumer awareness about your eBay business anddrive traffic AWAYback toFROM eBay,which helps you and other eBay sellers. Sellers have also told us that the eBay logo creates an impression of LOW value. And because eBay-branded shipping supplies are produced in large quantities IN CHINA, you can buy these QUESTIONABLE
premium-quality shipping materials at very competitive prices.
Even better.

I'm surprised about the move towards shipping supplies, considering how difficult they have made it to find the 6 co-branded Priority Mail boxes. The link changes about once per year.

The Better Half and I wondered if they know something we don't about USPS boxes.........

Thanks for asking about it. I was on the fence. I read it as a possiblity both ways.
Good to know that Gallery Plus will still be free in the categories which are currently free.

I was WRONG, Postmaster asked the question about Gallery Plus on the Board.........
It will continue to be free in the categories in which it is now free.........
Thanks Postmaster ...........
I am HAPPY I was wrong, lol.

A couple of thoughts from my perspective:
1. IF the free $50 coupon has no small print to it.... I would gladly use it.... but I am afraid it will be a $50 free coupon for shipping supplies on the purchase of $200 ebay shipping supplies or some such nonsense.
2. Currently I have 2 stores, one I list approximately 600 -620 items a month at 60.00, a second one I list approximately 180-200 items a month at 20.00.... so I will probably drop my basic store, have 1 store and have more listings.... but I am about maxed out on what I can handle now, having one store will make it easier but I will need to get VERY organized in the next month. Having twice the amount of listing on a premium store WILL definitely work for me IF sales for that store doubles.
Then again 2 basic store may be the answer, If you only had a premium store before, 500 fixed price, you are happy with that level of listing and you sell a variety of items, two basic stores will save you $30 off the new fees and you still have the same fixed price free insertions you have now with many more auctions at a lower price ($10 less for me) then what you are currently paying.
3. Under my old business model, downgrading to 1 basic store would not work, I would have to sell in lots and end up being a supplier for Anchor stores.... if to many resellers hadn't tried to cheat me in the past that would be a possibility.... on the other hand some resellers are my best customers, so finding more resellers I sell directly to would be important.
4. Changes make me uncomfortable, which I suppose is human nature.... but this will require a serious change in how I do things... IF I am paying for 1000 + 500 listing I want to use what I am paying for.
5. Anchor store is no longer (at this time) (ever) a goal..... I can not handle 11,000 listings myself, nor have the space considering what I sell, how I sell and the space it requires.
There was never yet an uninteresting life. Such a thing is an impossibility. Inside of the dullest exterior there is a drama, a comedy and a tragedy.

I have checked out the discussion boards minimally throughout the 15+ years that I have been selling on eBay. I have always been able to find answers and see that others are feeling the same way that I am.
I have rolled through all the punches and changes eBay has thrown at us. I have watched my sales slowly decline and I have known that I habe been in need of branching out to other selling opportunities, some of which I have already been doing which is why my eBay inventory has declined.
This old school gal finds it hard to change but this newest "change" is finally making me think that 2016 may be my last year of selling on eBay. I have stayed through thick and thin but it is now almost too much. I hate to see it come to an end but I guess we will see how this year plays out. My inventory had drastically dwindled as I have been discouraged but I think I will give it one last hurrah this year and keep my fingers crossed. I will actively reload my store and just see how it goes.
Good luck to everyone and hopefully we all can adjust to yet again the new changes.

There used to be an in-your-face link where you could purchase them. When that went away I thought they stopped making them. I vaguely recalled looking to see if they still made them last summer, and when I found the link it directed me to order supplies at USPS - no co-branded boxes.

DH, I can't imagine they would implement something like that unless the materials were provided at no cost. I agree with labs that it's just a keeping up with the Jones' situation. And at AZ they don't require sellers to use their branded packing - it's only when AZ fulfills sellers' orders that they are in the branded boxes.

I would use ebay branded boxes if they were free, but I get my shipping supplies for free through arrangements with local merchants, so I would not pay for them. USPS boxes are free also.

That's exactly what I mean: the link keeps changing, so it seems like they aren't available any more. But they are! Here's the current link:
