Agree to a point. We don't man handle them when we twist and bend. From
our experience if the glue is brittle at all it's going to give and the
sole will come loose regardless. It might not happen the first time they
put the shoe on, but pretty quick...

Agreed, in another life I was a mechanic and roustabout, of course I
didn't wear tennis shoes either. I just don't know at what point you are
that rough on something and it breaks that you call it defective.
Actually, I didn't even notice the grey pieces missing...good catch. The
label in our shoe is folded at that dotted line, you can't see any part
of the words without folding it over.
