Getting paid for items shipped?

I shipped an item on Oct. 30th and never got paid until today Nov. 3rd? what's with that? Also, the item didn't show that it was out for delivery? Must be a new way to hold your $$$ until Ebay is ready to releasethem? Always something new to surprise...
