provided the updated email info on the rights owner (after eBay for
Business said I needed to contact VeRO ...
Maybe the VeRO team is either trying to discourage me from filing a
counter notice by making it seem impossible, or they just don't know
what they're doing if it doesn't involve scripted/templated emails.

I don’t want to relist the item. I want to challenge the VeRO because
it’s obviously real and not a fake like several of my other past VeROs
that I never challenged.
