Finally, an official explanation to the outrageous USPS DELIVERY DELAYS

https://www.businessinsider.com/postmaster-general-carriers-leave-mail-delays-routes-usps-postal-ser...

After a heated confrontation with my postmaster today about why the USPS is trying to destroy my business with record delays and missing packages, he finally offered an explanation that wasn't the usual excuse or denial.  I've been able to confirm what he told me.  The new PG in an effort to cut costs has banned all overtime throughout the USPS and has instructed employees to just let mail sit until they are caught up enough to get to it, without charging overtime.  We are officially screwed.

I just registered an account with UPS and will use them for items over $25 and see if I can absorb the additional shipping costs.  At least I'll have my sanity, God willing.  I cannot spend one more day apologizing for late deliveries.

Re: Finally, an official explanation to the outrageous USPS DELIVERY DELAYS

I finically received my item that I ordered way back when, but don't let me be misleading, it was only 5 days late. And just something to note: for some reason or another, for the last 3 weeks I haven't seen our mail carrier on Mondays, and my mail box is viewable through my office window and I'm pretty much at my desk all day, and pretty much all night, to be honest.

It seems that ecommerce businesses aren't the only entities dealing with the sudden bombardment of postal delivery delays. And I can testify to such, in a sense:

My Daughter works for a company in Richmond, she deals with billing and accounts receivable; she called me last night and asked me if we were having probs with our mailing, because they were having major probs. And, she when on  to say how awful it has gotten over the last 2 and an half weeks; she actually when in to a rant about it; she said everything was going smooth until about 2 and an half weeks ago and, she wanted to know what the ***bleep*** is going on? LOL

Well, I explain it to her. Anyway, it appears there are many entities that want to know "what the ***bleep*** is going on:" see link below:

Re: Finally, an official explanation to the outrageous USPS DELIVERY DELAYS

Dammmm it .... finally* ... went*... : brain burp, or or or maybe just sleepy.

When I awake in the morning's sheen, I see its awesome glory shine; once outside, I kiss a sunbeam, for in my mind it's my last time. I take a deep breath as if I were to burst; dancing like a clown without one bit of sound. But it fills my soul with God's sweet Earth and I strive my way, for I am bound to that convenient store next door. Mr Ken, he greeds me with a grin, as I am of thrust for that coffee; first and foremost it is I who lumbers in. And for better or worse, I most have that coffee before my end.

So yeah, I know when our mail carrier comes and goes. And Mondays have been a no show for the last 3 weeks. Believe it or not.

"It all comes back to the money they can shove in their already buldging pockets."

Your post is truth.

Let me add a little more to it. Dejoy has absolutely no prior experience in express services. And his net worth is probably around 60 million. The PMG,s salary is around 280k a year.

Now my opinion, I feel certain that there is a very qualified individual within the USPS who have devoted their life to the USPS and has worked very hard to climb that ladder only to be shoved to the side, by the personal self-satisfings wants of a Lunatic.

God help us.

Me too! Used to get my mail delivered at 3:30 and now it is after 6pm. Strange. Not sure how that can be cost effective.

The change in delivery time maybe due to a route vacancy or simply the carrier rearranging their route. Examplethere is construction on my route that will last 70 days. It cuts into my usual delivery path. I usually get to my only bathroom stop around 2 hours from the end of my route. I can jump around and pick up this section around one hour earlier or pick it up at the end of the route. Needless to say I opted for the early option in this case.

Your carrier may have picked up someone that gets a lot of packages and moving around the route is made easier to work.

Sometimes it can't be avoided. And sometimes when a real idiot is put in charge and there is a possibility that they can be booted out in a few months it's best to ignore the drivel that comes from their mouths. Kudos to your supervisor.

Please check your sorces. Starting with your rants against the Washinton Post and Yahoo.

Anti tRump no, anti corruptiion yes.  But admitedly it seams like anti corruption does in fact make most anti tRump.  LOL that you mention TDS, but we are the ones with rational facts unlike tRumpers and their love of "alternate facts"

I agree Obama dropped the ball on the international mail. He should have pushed McConnell more on this. The bill for hchanges has been sitting on McConnels desk  for well over a decade and he refused to bring it to a vote. It was one of nearly 300 house passed bills (some passed by the Republican controled house) that McConnel has refused to bring to a vote.

No, the mail is not sitting there each day and piling up.

Its going out the next day!

Same thing is occurring at thousands of companies all across America each day.

Yes, but you delay one days mail and it pushes the next days back and the next days and the next....

Admittedly there has always been a level of standard mail (3rd class aka Junk Mail) that gets rolled. Companies know this, I can get boxholders or catalogs today 8/6 that have a wrapper that will state something like Deliver to homes by 8/10 , or target date 8/10-8/12.  BUT we have NEVER before been told to roll first class or packages.

But you can still buy a $5.00 item with free shipping from Amazon on Saturday and USPS will deliver it to you on Sunday.

Here, unless we see the employee time card, we are not sure is overtime means overtime in actually over 8 hours in one day, more than 40 hours for the week, or if it means.........   more hours. Many USPS employees, although they are  "career" employees,  are not "full time"  employees.

Re: Finally, an official explanation to the outrageous USPS DELIVERY DELAYS

As a buyer I have collected $25 worth of late delivery vouchers from ebay`s guaranteed delivery just this month alone. This is going to cost sellers in the long run. I`m taking the money though. You`d think ebay would wise up and add a day to the estimates and save some money?

Re: Finally, an official explanation to the outrageous USPS DELIVERY DELAYS

You can't be serious?

You've fallen into the Catch-22 Liberal trap of relying on supposed fake "fact checkers" to somehow verify their fake stories.

So who is checking the fact checkers then? What are the fact checkers qualifications and methods of fact checking? not very rational thinking to immediately omit those.

The mediabiasfactcheck website was founded in 2015 by Dave Van Zandt whose only qualification is a degree in communication.

According to "Columbia Journalism Review" as published by Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism the site has been described as a "amateur attempt at categorizing media bias and Van Zandt as an "armchair media analyst."

The Poynter Institute stated "Media Bias/Fact Check" is a widely cited source for news stories and even studies about misinformation, despite the fact that its method is in no way scientific."

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Media_Bias/Fact_Check

Rather than thinking for yourself and verifying if statements are correct in stories you rely on another unreliable source to verify those stories. This is the equivalent of having someone come up to you on the street and tell you they have a nice bridge to sell you and you make the purchase after their good friend vouches for them.

Your statement is an embodiment of a 1980s episode of Max Headroom, which predicted a dystopian future dominated by large evil media corporations.

Your statement is equivalent of user gidgetpup5 providing a link to a BusinessInsider article that uses the Washington Post as a source. Both are Liberal fake news outlets commonly recycled in Yahoo's news feed.

Not very rational thinking but more reminiscent to Trump Derangement Syndrome.

What do so called "Trumpers" and FOX News have to do this?

I am independent voter who thinks for himself.

I am many other users of Yahoo are quite aware of their Liberal bias based upon their day to day news feed of factually wrong stories. Their news feeds favor other Liberal news outlets pushing similar fake news stories. They recycle each other stories as the major source of income for all these outlets is from the ads which appear within the articles they post. Conservative outlets are usually only shown in their news feeds when they can someone be twisted to a Liberal narrative such as taking quotes out of context.

I and many others were the counter voice to these false stories. I and many others opposed to fake news utilized the comments section below each article to provide information and links to sites which entirely disproved such stories.

The problem is the majority of comments often found in each article's comments section went against Yahoo's narrative, thus exposing readers to the falsehoods in Yahoo's stories. Yahoo couldn't have that happening before an election so on June 30, 2020, Yahoo suspended the comments section below each article and placed the following statement with a button to open a survey.

This is called interference in a election.

This is why Yahoo's and many other internet company's liability limits under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act need to be revoked. I urge everyone to contact the White House and their Congressional representative to revoke liability limits under this act.

I maintain a personal library of various counterpoint statements and links to sites disproving statements commonly recycled in such fake news articles. Unlike you I don't use other unreliable biased sources of information as a supposed source.

Here is a rare Washington Post article that praises Trump efforts to solve the abuse of the UPU program. Of course what the article fails to disclose is that Amazon was a major abuser of this program, having copied eBay's 2010 groundbreaking effort to scam the system. The Washington Post had previously run stories against such actions; however, Amazon, unlike its tiny rival eBay, will be in a much better position to adjust to the rate increases for their Chinese vendors.

You'll need to access the article via Google's cache as directly going to the article requires a subscription.

Re: Finally, an official explanation to the outrageous USPS DELIVERY DELAYS

I drop a package in a U.S.P.S. mail box, took them 9 days just to receive it. ( plus 5 more days to mail it).  But who else can I ship with. Light packages are to expense with U.P.S. and FedEx.

Re: Finally, an official explanation to the outrageous USPS DELIVERY DELAYS

Yup. I made a post about this.

We're basically being forced to switch to FedEx because of this.

I understand eBay may not be able to assist us with refunds.

But I think it's absolutely wrong for eBay to hold "Item Not Received" cases against us, as this is a known issue out of our control!
