Hi everyone! Thanks for joining us for the Weekly Chat with eBay Staff. We don't have a specific topic this week, so feel free to share any general buying or selling questions you may have.

I was looking for reports in my ebay seller hub and noticed I was missing the "statement" for July 2020.  I tried to find it with no avail.  I called support again for help and I was told it was because I was not in Managed payments July 2020.

 

Well, that is not the case, I have been in Managed payments for nearly 2 years.  

 

Is there anything I can do to get a that statement ?

 

 I won't comment on my concern that they show that I was only in managed payments since August 2020

@dhbookds Great question! We definitely want to help protect sellers before they run into a bad transaction. If they haven’t had the sale go through yet, they can still contact our security team by going here and choosing a contact option at the bottom to submit a report of a suspicious buyer.

Poor Charles, he gets so disrespected on some threads and I feel badly for him.  I have however noticed that even Charles is not being allowed to answer questions much anymore.  When he posts, it is to tell us to call the MP team and/or he gives us links to various policies.  That isn't how he use to post.  It seems as if he is no longer allowed to help us anymore with any tangible information.

 

As a business person, one for more years than I care to count, this attitude is not only ridiculous, it is unacceptable.  Ebay is messing with the core of our businesses, OUR money.  Yet we are required to chase and chase and chase to get answers.  Most times they really never come.  Sadly calling into the MP team isn't the best either.  Often times they have the team unavailable to take calls or there is long waits and then when you finally get someone, they give you incorrect information.

 

None of this is new stuff.  I've been told Ebay is working on improving the CS process.  Yet months after being told that multiple times, nothing has changed in MP or even outside of it.

 

At a time when many people are desperate for money just to feed their kids and keep a roof over their heads, Ebay plays these games with our money.  It is like whack a mole when trying to get questions answers.

 

I'm well aware that no one here is allowed to answer questions on MP.  I get that.  So why is it so tough to get the authorized people to come to the Weekly Chat to answer some questions????

@mam98031 I realize there’s a lot of frustration and I’m sorry it’s been difficult to get answers to your questions. We're continuing to ask for more Managed Payments involvement. We’ll keep advocating as much as we can on our side.

Hi @blueberrysparkle - there aren't any extra protections that have been announced for this type of issue. I'd recommend contacting Customer Support so they can review your account in more detail to see if any of our existing protections apply to these shipments.

@nuclearomen  We’ve been running into this too. This looks to be something on our end so our tech team is looking into it. 

 

From what I know, that portion of the experience on the profile page was removed when we depreciated the collections feature, because it tied into that experience. I can definitely pass along that feedback to the correct team though.

2. “We appreciate you for bringing suspicious account activities of the seller “xxxxx”. I understand that your reporting seller because the seller is violating eBay policies and using fraudulent declaration and incorrect custom taxations for all their listings.

I have taken your report, and on the basis of our investigation, we will further take action against the seller which might lead from selling restriction or even suspension of their account.

We are grateful to you for your valuable inputs to keep eBay a safe platform.”


Unfortunately, three weeks later, nothing has changed. This seller has over 12.000 items for sale with the same fraudulent terms regarding customs and the “gifts mention” on CN22 document.

Ebay does not seem to take this seriously in contrary to what the Ebay Trust & Safety department claims
This is a serious matter, why would it take so much time to send a warning to the seller ? This is not serious, and doing nothing is being partner in crime.


Considering Ebay won’t do anything, should I report this to competent authorities, instead?

This is really beyond me.

@whomanfoursays Thank you for bringing this to our attention. You are correct that sellers are not allowed to mark items as gifts to avoid customs fees and the full policy can be reviewed here.  We appreciate your reports and that’s the correct step to take in a situation like this. Please keep in mind, as we protect all member privacy, we won’t be able to share what actions we’ve taken on a seller's account. That being said, we’ll get this reported on this end as well.

We apologize for any confusion regarding our current Promoted Listings credits for both Top Rated Sellers and Anchor and Enterprise store subscribers.  We regularly review our various promotions to ensure they are providing the best opportunity to help our sellers grow, and we will give you time to adjust if there are any changes made to these promotions, but we don’t have any changes to announce at this time.
