This weeks challenge in the  the Ship, Ship Hooray program is to "offer expedited shipping"

If you offer it as a 2nd or 3rd shipping option, does that count?

I ask, because all the examples show expedited shipping as the ONLY shipping option.

Hi @vrykalak - I got a super fast response! 2nd or 3rd option is totally counts!

Great Value in Every Stores Subscription Package

Ebay uses free supplies as an enticemnet to get sellers to sign up for different levels of stores.

In the promotion it says 10 sizes of boxes and includes a picture of boxes with 1 being the cube shape. Please bring back the cubes. 4 < 10+. bait and switch or false advertising or both?

Just want to mention there have been several threads about tracking issues.

Also removing the seller's handling time has been causing buyer's concern.

A seller may be shipping within their handling time, but to the buyer, who does not know this, it may be concerning.

Some sellers have been negged for this.

Sorry to come up with another concern to bring forward, thank you for all you do!

No worries, Yes the adjustment of seller's handling times IS ANOTHER IMPORTANT EBAY ISSUE SHIPPING THROUGH EBAY LABELS.

But for my part and for this chat session I figured that I would attempt to address the "Signature Confirmation" problem on its own with the staff. It is a bit little complex and might not be easy for them to understand or anyone else for that matter, unless you are a seller who is purchasing USPS postage labels with insurance, and signature confirmation through eBay labels on a regular basis.

But I sure am glad that other sellers are here to point out some of the other defects as well.

@vrykalak, alan@ebay  If this warning exists in most categories, I heartily agree with @vrykalak - it SHOULD be enough.  So, stick with magazines and similar categories where MM is HORRIBLY abused. There's another thread where a seller reported listings by a large-volume abuser of MM. Nothing happened. Also, another thread where it's reported that MM is the DEFAULT shipping setting for magazines if you use the...quick listing(?) form.

Re: Community Chat, Jan 24th @ 1pm PT - General Topics

Why is it that ebay keeps recommending that I lower prices on certain items when that item is already selling fine at the cost listed?

This poor suggestion is found in the seller hub when I click on the Growth tab.

There is an issue with the USPS "Signature Confirmation" that is issued  through eBay Labels when a seller purchases USPS postage and USPS insurance greater than $500.01 ($500.01 - $5,000.00)

When a seller purchases USPS postage through eBay Labels and adds USPS insurance greater than $500.01 ($500.01 - $5,000.00) the seller is no longer able to purchase real "Signature Confirmation" that is the type that is viewable online directly on the USPS Tracking details page.

One of eBay's requirements  to protect a seller from an INR case is that the Signature Confirmation must be viewable online.

"Electronic communications that are not verifiable on the courier site would not be admissible."

So essentialy it is not possible for a seller to purchase REAL USPS Signature Confirmation, that is viewable online directly on the USPS Tracking details page, through eBay Labels, and USPS insurance that is greater than $500.01 ($500.01 - $5,000.00) together due to this eBay Labels glitch.

@go-bad-chicken Thank you for the detail supporting your question. I wasn't  aware that we didn't display the insurance above $500. I will forward your issue, along with the screen shots to the Shipping team.

I'll also ask them to get back to you. If you don't hear back by Monday, email me at bburke@ebay.com and I will follow-up with them.

Thanks again for the very clear description of the issue and for selling on eBay.

Re: Community Chat, Jan 24th @ 1pm PT - General Topics

Ebay staff please let me know if this is a correct statement.

On ebay USA ebay.com and other ebay worldwide sites a seller can not sell a fixed price buy it now item in 2 or more buy it now auctions, sellers are only allowed to list 1 fixed buy it now auction for each individual item.

Ebay staff please let me know if this is allowed by ebay.

Seller sets  up 2 stores and sells the same fixed price buy it now item (usually different titles but same exact item)  once in both stores.

Thank You Brian

I think that is has something to do with the fact that the FREE "Signature Service" or "Signature Tracking" that the USPS provides once an item is insured over the amount of $500.01 is kicking in and overiding the sellers ability to purchase the real "Signature Confirmation" that is view able online. Or something to that effect.

Re: Community Chat, Jan 24th @ 1pm PT - General Topics

Monday was certainly a hot mess in regards to the shipping issues.  I've never experienced this before over a postal increase.  There were at least 20+ threads with sellers seeking help, anything, many called csrs and were told that 1st class international was no longer available for ebay sellers--among other things.  Many were bulk editing all their listings, etc etc.

I didn't see anyone post anything about this until evening eastern time.  Not even a we are working on it post.  Did no one know until evening that 1st class was still available?  Then the facebook link is an insult to anyone that refuses to have anything to do with a Russian supported website.  Frankly, I don't think the ebay announcement is very visible to many sellers either.  I've been here a long time and it used to be prominently displayed on my ebay page.  I only found the new location recently. This was a big disappointment.

Re: Community Chat, Jan 24th @ 1pm PT - General Topics

In reguards  to the latest ebay Snafu Will ebay be protect sellers for issues that arise because  of not being able to print label?

Will ebay be footing the bill for all of the late shipments in the guaranteed program?

We ebay protect sellers from accounts getting dings on their Seller performance status?

Will the protections be proactive?--I don't think sellers should have to call customer service to get any

defect removed or credit applied as this was an ebay issue not a seller issue.

Re: Community Chat, Jan 24th @ 1pm PT - General Topics

On the sell your item page there is a radio checkbox for international visibility.

When I click on it it shows only UK as a choice and If I choose it shows a .50 charge.

I did not choose it.

I logged into eBay UK to see my listing and there are there and show my items converted pricing in  UK pound cost.

So what exactly is the .50 charge for as I already show my items as being listed on the UK site?

Is ebays "Monetization team" (a Griff joke , I'm hoping) charging sellers extra for something they get for free anyway?

Glad you said this, it jogged my memory.

There is some confusion as to what Ebay uses to arrive at the estimated delivery time frame.  Earlier, Ebay took the seller's handling time and used it to figure this.  Then, it was stated that the seller's history of shipping was used, IOW, the seller could have a three day handling time chosen, but if they usually shipped in one day, then Ebay used one day to drive the estimated delivery timeframe.  Then a Blue said that no, they really do use the seller's handling time.

But the results do not always seem to bear this out.

It would be helpful if the seller's handling time were used, as then the seller is covered if there is a need for them to ship later but still within their handling time, and the buyer is thrilled with getting their item quickly, being that it is better to underpromise and overdeliver.

Just a thought.  Thank you again for your consideration.
