Can't sign in. Button is grey & not active link on sign in page

As of 9.4.19 I can't sign in from my computer, as sign in button is grey & not an active link when page comes up & name password doesn't turn button blue either.  CS is typically condescending & rude, without helping in any way.  Feel like it might take IT TECH like 3 minutes to correct coding on button; but as usual Ebay doesn't seem to care that every update is full of glitches & are dragging their feet to make their platform accessible / compliant with all clients.  Losing tons of working time, can't list from phone...

No one else has reported this kind of problem on the discussion boards. Perhaps it's something on your end.

try clearing cache, updating browser, using a different browser, rebooting.........

After trying the suggestions from dhbookds, you can also try signing in using your email address and password rather than username and password. Make sure that there is not an extra security field on the sign-in page that eBay wants you to fill in before proceeding -- you may have to scroll down to see it in some cases, particularly if you are using a tablet with a small screen or browser with a high zoom level. And make sure the sign-in page is loading completely before you begin entering your information.

If you are still having problems, try using this older sign-in page that seems to work more reliably for users that have various issues with the newer page:

If that works better, bookmark that link for future use.

Hey eburtonlab,

while I had hoped to respond today about how awesome this was.... It's already been hijacked -- meaning the link you provided worked once yesterday, but today it rerouted to new sign in page & says please resignin to make changes to your account & it's the same page with grey sign in button. At least I got 7 new items listed yesterday - any other links / old sign ins that may work more than a day?  I do appreciate you responding in the first place & was very hopeful after it initially worked....

Sorry to hear the link is being redirected for you.

It still seems to be working for me. But I have run into cases where a URL works in one browser or one one machine but the same URL is redirected in another browser or on another machine. Perhaps try using a private or incognito browser window, or a different browser altogether to see if that changes anything.

I will see if I can dredge up another alternate sign in link, and I will post it if I can.

Hello All I had the same problem since I did a windows update....Definitely a browser issue  . I tried Foxfire and had no problems, its something in Explorer 11. The link shown here to a older log-in window works also. I tried re-stalling IE 11 but that didn't help.

This is the solution to login problem that worked for me  .

Somehow the Security settings had been changed which affected the login for the eBay website.

in Internet Explorer, I went to Tools > Internet Options > Security tab, then had to click on Default Level to return IE to default security levels. Then, on this same Security tab I had to click on the Trusted websites icon and add the https:// URL for eBay.

I added the following 4 url's to the trusted sites list( especially the last one below) and now its working.   I added

https://signin.ebay.com

https://www.ebay.com

https://my.ebay.com

https://k2b-bulk.ebay.com

I have noticed while using edge and chrome when the site makes you sign in again to verify who you are that even thought your user name and password populate. The page is unresponsive till I click the user name field with my mouse and selected my user name from the drop down. After the user name and password are filled out again the sign in button responds.

In our case using Firefox (the most current version for Mac) does not work correctly since today (Yesterday was OK). 

After fill in user name and password, I was asked to verify 4 times (this is annoyed) and my browser (Firefox) is warning us if the web site is original eBay site.

Anyway, when I signed out, eBay site again asks to verify showing the box to verify and I could not sign out.

I did not do so and just closed the browser. Is there any security issue right now on eBay?

I tried via Safari and it works normally.

I have the same issue, Firefox.

 I retype my login and password, then get the 'recapture' I'm not a robot to click, then get the verification 'picture' which does not allow me to login either. At least I know I am not alone in this problem.

I'm going to try my chrome browser, and see it my login works in there.

I think eBay has made some recent changes to the sign-in process, particularly in Australia.

The following process has helped me sign in on occasion:

When you get to a sign-in page that is giving you problems, delete everything in the URL after the .dll part, so that the address looks like this:

https://signin.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll

Then hit 'enter' to load that page -- that should give you the old pre-Facebook sign-in. Once you have signed in there, if eBay gives you another new sign-in page or verification page, click on the eBay logo to go to the main page, and you should be signed in at that point. Unless eBay has changed things again.

If I do not do that when signing in to ebay.com.au, I have to verify my account via text or email before I can complete the sign-in process.

I had the same problem after one of microsofts forced win10 updates, and ebays "system upgrades" it seems IE11 and ebay don't get along, I was advised to download firefox and now I can log in and -some- of my ebay features have started working again.
