eBay fees on sale of stamps

I'm curious if anyone else has experienced eBay charging very high fees on the sale of stamps.  I looked at the website and it says the fees should be 8.7%.   I am getting charged double and triple that.  Any suggestions?  Am I doing something wrong?

I have no idea where you got 8.7 short of a way back machine:

https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/fees-credits-invoices/selling-fees?id=4822#section11

Oh and them final value fee is charged on Final value of item, plus, shipping if any., plus, tax if any.

And then the .30 is added in.

Be-aware of an international charge if they buyer is registered in a different country even if you are shipping in country....

Where do you see this?  Please post a link.   Standard Ebay fees for private sellers are 12.8% plus a small fixed charge.

Re: eBay fees on sale of stamps

Remember that the rate , whether it is 8.7% or 12.9%, will be charged on your customer's ENTIRE payment, not just the stamp itself.

Stamp+ shipping+ Internet (state) Sales Tax + 30c non-refundable service fee.

In addition you may have an International Fee of 3.75%(?) if your customer is using a non-US credit card, even if you are shipping to a US address.

Your Seller Dashboard will give you the percentages of the various fees you have paid over the past 30 days and is actually more useful .

My eBay-> Selling->Selling Hub->Performance->Selling Costs

Re: eBay fees on sale of stamps

The 9% is for those seller paying for a eBay store, you get a discount on the final value sell fees. If you do not pay the monthly store cost, then you pay the 12.9%. Figure up your monthly sales and see if the 3.9% savings is worth it. The cheapest store is $7.95 / mo unless you pay a year up front and then it comes down to $4.95 / mo.
