When searching on ebay for what an item sold for, I am allowed to do maybe a half-a-dozen searches and am then told that I've reached my limit on searches and can no longer find out what an item sold for. This causes me great consternation, since when shopping for merchandise in a thrift store, for example, I need to know what I can reasonably expect to sell an item for. If I'm paying, say, three bucks for an item, I'd like to know if the same item sold on eBay for at least three to four times more than I'm paying for the item.
Also, my keyboard for searching manually for items disappeared and I cannot seem to get it back!! Why? I've tried adjusting my settings, but to no avail.

Hi. I didn't have to figure it out; it just stopped doing it! The latest quirk I'm dealing with is that when I want to get more information about an item that sold, I'm prevented from doing so.
For example, if I click on the listing of an item that was sold, I'm given right away a picture of the item, but the picture disappears almost as soon as I see it and no more information of the sold item is available. Strange! I do not have that problem with my PC, just with my smart phone.
Maybe the new quirk, like the previous one, will also "fix" itself. What do you think? Don

It's all about the ai scraping of sites.. if you heard about Twitter and Elon limiting the amount of posts you can view. I assume ebay is doing the same. Welcome to the new world

I know virtually nothing about website scraping, but I have experienced the frustration of not being able to check on my smart phone (Android) the prices for which eBay merchandise sold in the past. I do this checking primarily in thrift stores before I buy an item. It it hasn't sold recently, chances are I won't buy it. If it has sold recently at a pretty decent price, chances are I will buy it.
On some of my shopping excursions I've been prevented from acquiring eBay sales information, which puts a crimp in my modus operandi. Big brother IS watching.
