using large envelope to ship trading cards

Due to the rules of the ebay standard envelope i need to use a different shipping service because the card i'm selling is over 20$, Is there a reason I see people suggesting to use the USPS ground advantage over using the cheaper USPS first class large envelope?

Ground Advantage includes tracking and insurance but First Class "Large envelope" does not.

There is no longer a First Class Mail service. It's all GA.

USPS still offers First Class letters and First Class flats which are also referred to as "Large envelope," which is what the OP is referring to.  The third type of First Class mail, i.e., Packages, was merged into Ground Advantage but the other two types (letters and flats) are still around.

You don't need to use large envelope, you can just use a regular envelope and stamp for any value card. You have the same lack of tracking either way. The question is: how much trust do want to put in your buyer vs cost of GA w/tracking?

The eBay Standard Envelope is just USPS First Class Mail.  Yes, really.  There's no special service that they created.  If you're considering sending USPS First Class Large Envelope without tracking, send it using eBay Standard Envelope anyway to get the tracking.  Yeah, your insurance will cap out at $20 but you won't get any insurance without it.

Ebay will not let you buy ESE for an order over $20. The insurance is through Shipcover and paid for by Ebay.

The tracking is a kludge on the routing bar code which is only read by the sorting machines for letter mail, and not reliable.

Using First Class Letter or First Class large envelope means automatically losing any item not received claims for the shipment. If you believe your buyers are honest and your Service Levels can take it, you can use it, but you cannot buy the postage from Ebay.
