I don’t know what eBay is going to do but this is the note I got from Pirateship
But on Pirate Ship, most rates won't have any changes
On Pirate Ship, the USPS holiday increase only applies to shipments that weigh more than 20 pounds and shipments to or from Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, or Military addresses.

Yeah...
But eBay will most likely do nothing.

eBay announced earlier:
As you may have seen, USPS®, FedEx® and UPS® have all started announcing temporary shipping cost increases for the upcoming peak holiday season. For full details, please visit each carrier’s site.
USPS
USPS announced peak season rates beginning October 6, 2024. However, most of these charges will not apply when you purchase your labels on eBay.
Shipments that will have the published peak season surcharges applied on eBay Labels are:
FedEx
While base package pricing has not increased, FedEx has published a full schedule regarding additional handling surcharges, oversize surcharges and demand surcharges for all domestic FedEx shipments this season, including eBay Labels.
Here’s the link to review the details regarding all FedEx demand surcharges.
UPS®
At this time, UPS will not apply peak surcharges this holiday season when you use eBay Labels. Learn more about the UPS peak season rate update.
Smart Ship Tip: Label pricing adjustments post shipment can be both unexpected and costly. You can help avoid these surcharges by accurately measuring and entering the weight and dimensions of your package when you print your shipping label.
We know how important shipping is for online businesses, especially during the peak holiday season. We’ll continue to work closely with the carriers throughout the season and update our community as needed.
As always, thank you for selling on eBay.

I Feel lile the smart tip should mention something about packages being in standard box.
A lot of people get adjustments for irregular packaging.

The "avoid these surcharges" link under the Smart Tip has info about irregular packaging, avoiding surcharges, and links to each carrier's document that outlines cost adjustment factors (incl addt'l handling).

ebay does not care about it, they have internal commissions from carrier, they take also their selling fee so do u think ebay cares ? all they care about how to take money from sellers and from carriers and carriers are ripping of sellers and no one is there to ask them. is it not ridiculous that carrier increasing rates 3 times a year and no one ask them about it, i think we are living in banana republic.

Sorry I wasn't clear. Since I feel like this is a repeated issue. Majority of adjustments i see pop up are due to irregular packaging. That it should be brought more front and center and added a little note directly in the smart tip.
'Please note eBays shipping calculator does not factor in surcharges related to irregular packaging. Please review your carrier surchages as these may be added by the carrier.'
Idk. People seem to get blindsided. Especially with fedex who is super strict.
Fedex just lost their what 20 year USPS deal and the USPS is removing the discount to consolidatoes for services like Smart Post.
Apparently Smart Post is going to start using contractors for their last mile delivery.
Fedex has to start nitpicking extra hard or start selling off some of their air fleet.

I suppose we could all write letters and ask the pope to move Christmas.

The Holiday Surcharge runs from Jan 1 - Dec 31.

Where do you get that from. Both eBay and Pirateshup show the dates I have shown.

But they gave the dates for the entire year. 🤣
