What is happening here??? When going to print the shipping labels on the last few items I sold, it seems Ebay has chosen the option for me!!! The buyer is paying for a Priority Mail Flat rate envelope! Well I can't put a cup and saucer in a flat rate envelope!!! After paging down to get the correct label, it costs me more to purchase it. I am losing money on the last few sales, because ebay is charging the buyer for the lowest cost postage, regardless of what the item is!!!! Have we lost our freedom of choice here too????

You can no longer buy shipping labels for Parcel Select Ground on Ebay.
When a buyer chooses it, it defaults to another service when you go to buy a label.
You can still offer it, but you have to buy the label somewhere else.

Your listing offered the option of Parcel Select Ground or Priority Mail shipping with a negligible difference between the 2 rates. The buyer chose and paid for the default of Parcel Select Ground.
eBay allows you to offer that service, but not to purchase the label through eBay. Because the service is not included in eBay labels, it defaults the shipping label page to Priority Flat Rate Envelope.
You have 2 options-
1- Upgrade the order to Priority Mail. The cost difference is so tiny and the service both faster and insured so it's worth it. The item isn't hazmat so using Parcel Select doesn't make much sense anyway.
2- If you want to use Parcel Select you can buy the label elsewhere and upload the tracking to the transaction. PirateShip.com or paypal.com/shipnow are both options for purchasing the label.

eBay has decided to phase out access to Parcel Select Ground labels, even though USPS has made no changes in their services or policies, and it's offered by all other online postage sellers including PayPal, endicia, stamps.com, etc. When it's not offered, the shipping label page usually defaults to the first option on the list which is flat rate envelope. That doesn't mean that's what they buyer aid for, though: The buyer paid for the shipping option that was shown in the listing.
You can purchase Parcel Select Ground postage through PayPal at
www.PayPal.com/shipnow
But do compare prices before you do that. For Zones 1 - 4, the USPS online price for Priority Mail is less than a dollar more than Parcel Select Ground. If you're a TRS you get a 3% discount when purchasing Priority labels through eBay, which often makes it cheaper than Parcel Select. Additional benefits of shipping via Priority Mail include automatic free insurance, faster shipping time and less handling (which are especially significant when shipping fragile items), and often a free box.
IMHO Parcel Select ground should only be offered when necessary such as for hazmat or Oversize packages (i.e., length-plus-girth above the Priority limit of 108 inches).

if ebay doesnt print parcel select labels, then why is it offered on the listing page? this is supposed to be a simple process, that ebay keeps making harder and more confusing, like so many other changes they have made!
