shipping invoice item # is different from item# purchased

i notice that on my invoice from a seller when i recived the item.. the item # was different from the item# that i purchased..why is that?shouldnt it be the same?

As long as you got what you paid for I'm not sure that the number on your invoice matters much.  If the seller generated an invoice from their own system, they may be using different types of ID number than the Ebay listing ID number.  The seller could be using their inventory number for it or assign their own unique sales number to it.  There could be all kinds of legitimate reasons for the number being different.

If I may ask, why does it matter if you got what you paid for?

I agree with mam98031. More than likely, it is the sellers' ID number. It's a business thing.
