open case put on hold

Hello ebayers,

I opened a “item not received” case against a seller.  Latest response has been ” eBay Customer Support has placed the case on hold until Mar. 1 to allow time to provide additional documentation.”.  after opening the not received case I received a package with appropriate tracking number supplied by seller.  Item received was not the dress ordered but a measuring tape.  Question: do I close the  “item not received” case and open a new “I received an item that does not match the seller's description.” Case?  Or let it play out till March ? seller had 99% feedback rating when i placed order but has since dropped into low 70's and 60+ negative feedback ratings in the last month with many buyers not getting what was paid for.

Change the type of case or youre going to be out the money

@lindakay7 You have to close the item not received case and then file a return request. All of this can be done in the resolution center. The reason for your return will be “does not match the listing” or whatever is closest to that.

closed “item not received” and opened "Doesn't match description or photos" today.
