I made a purchase and received the item with no issues, it arrived on time, works perfectly....then a couple days later I received an email from the seller stating that they found an issue with the item and that it didn't work properly so they we're going to cancel the order and issue me a full refund. I was so confused, I thought maybe the seller had accidentally sent the email to the wrong buyer.... a couple days later I received another email saying that they had made a mistake and sent the email to the wrong buyer and would I please refund the money that they refunded to me? (I know it's confusing!!) anyways I want to do the right thing and give them their money back but I have searched everywhere on all the help pages and found absolutely nothing that explained how to do this! I tried to call Ebay and that was a JOKE!! someone please help me issue this refund. thank you so much!

If you can still access the order information, you might ask the seller if he's amenable to receiving a personal check from you at the return address shown on the order.
Once the item is refunded, eBay no longer has any interest in what happens.

So there’s no way to just return the money that the seller returned to me in error?

I always see people recommend personal check when making amends to a seller and always cringe when I do.
I cannot disagree with this more and find it HIGHLY inadvisable. In this day of electronic payments, the last thing you want to give to a stranger is your bank routing and account number.
More preferable methods are a USPS Money order or other Money Order that DOES NOT HAVE YOUR ACCOUNT NUMBER ON IT. I've also used PayPal Friends and Family in the past.

Not through eBay. But, I'm sure they wouldn't mind a check from you. Even a PayPal™ friends and family, if you can get his PayPal™ address (my experience here has been that the eBay messaging system won't accept any messages that have email addresses as part of the body)
