So this is one I have no idea what to do with. A package I shipped to a buyer in New Jersey is showing as Delivered in Texas. I print my shipping labels through eBay and the address on the shipping label is the correct one, so the delivery address attached to the tracking number should be correct. The buyer has contacted me asking about it. I have sent an email to the USPS but I am not sure what other steps I can take.

You sure you did not enter tracking number incorrectly?? Does it show a forward address movemen
If it is correct you will need to refund your buyer.

Someone might have done an intercept?

The tracking number is the one automatically uploaded on ebay. The tracking information provided by the USPS matches that given by ebay. The strangest part is that the item was to be delivered to New Jersey, tracking shows the package arriving in New Jersey, and then being shipped to Texas where it bounced around and then shows a Delivered status. I am not concerned about the need to refund the buyer, but I would love to know how this happened and if there is anything I can do to prevent it happening again.

" tracking shows the package arriving in New Jersey, and then being shipped to Texas where it bounced around and then shows a Delivered status."
if they file a case of non receipt you will lose. Wait until such is opened.

Take the tracking data and go to your post office and ask to speak to the post master. They have more data there than you have and they may know something or may show something that you cannot yet see.

I am well aware of the refund policy, and have no problem refunding the purchaser. I am just trying to figure out what happened and how. I have seen tracking for packages travel all over the country and eventually get delivered, I have had packages delivered with no updates to the tracking information, but having an item delivered to the wrong address in the wrong state while using a printed label is a new one for me.
I do plan on waiting until I have to issue a refund, mostly because I have seen seemingly undelivarable items make it to the destination, but if it is necessary, I have no problem issuing a refund. It is the puzzle of the situation that is driving me crazy.
