how to display selective shipping services on listing page?

I have a listing for a lightweight item that is small. One item could easily ship with USPS 1st Class Package service. In order to ship two of them it would require either USPS Parcel Select, or Priority Mail. Using a flat rate service is not price-wise until you would purchase about a dozen and you live on the west coast (I am on the east coast), so I am not even bothering with flat rate services.

I want to know: is there a way to set up the listing so that it shows the buyer only select shipping services based on the quantity they purchase? So if a person only wants one, it only shows 1st Class Package or Priority Mail; if they want several it only shows Parcel Select or Priority Mail.

On a side note, I have made several listings now and on each one I choose to offer more than one shipping service, but on the listing page it only ever shows ONE and you can't choose the others I selected when I set up the listing. It's aggravating and I don't know how to fix it.

Re: how to display selective shipping services on listing page?

If you are using fixed price listings, you can show as many shipping services as you want. If you show a shipping weight of 12 oz. for 1 item, ebay will calculate shipping for 2 items based on 24 ounces. In that case, I don't think 1st Class will even be available as an option to the Buyer. In my experience, the ebay calculator tends to overstate the shipping weight for multiple items. The other issue that has come up recently is the new "Dimensional Weight" rule. It is entirely possible that adding an additional item can cause the box size to exceed the maximum L+W+H = 36" that gets you into surcharges for oversized shipments. If you give a box size of 12" by 12" by 12" in the calculator, ebay assumes that you can get 10 of them in the same size box and only adjusts the weight. I have found myself limiting the quantity of an item that is available to avoid this issue.
