I sent this note to ebay and have never heard back. Now I'm 1 day past the refund due date and am worried the seller will leave negative feedback.
Buyer opened up a return for this item based on false allegations. The buyer said the reason for the return was, "Doesn't match description or photos". We used Nike's own stock photos & descriptions of this item. Is she alleging Nike's marketing team is unable to describe and photograph their own product? She then goes on to say, "Item came extremely tight with no stretch. Does not seem authentic, as I have never had nike apparel with this kind of fabric". These were listed as "WORKOUT TIGHTS". The style was listed as "Activewear Tights". Fabric Technology was listed as "Compression". The fit was listed as "Tight Fit". The fabric is 92% polyester 8% spandex. What are her workout clothes usually made out of? We purchased these tights directly from Kohl's. Kohl's is a licensed Nike retailer and is the largest department store chain in the United States with 1,158 locations throughout the U.S. Is she suggesting Kohl's is selling knock off merchandise? Could this just be a case of buyer's remorse and she should of ordered a size Small and not EXTRA Small?
Customer returned the item with the tags cut off of the garment and therefore does not qualify for a refund per our return policy.

Oh wait, you think ebay actually cares?
You are an ebay seller, you have no rights, no value, and no recourse.
Sorry if it is too soon, but your are fighting against buyer privilege, you won't win.

All I know is that ebay is still collecting 100% of their fees and I'm getting ZERO seller support. 😞

Since your are a TRS and offer 30 day returns, you should be able to do a partial refund and have the buyer pay the return shipping. Did they include the tags with the return?

Once the buyer filed an INAD, your return policy doesn't mean anything.
If you don't refund, Ebay will from your account.

The buyer paid for the return shipping. The tags were not sent back with the item. It's stated in our return policy that any item returned without tags will not be eligible for a refund.

I feel your pain as I also sell clothing. Buyers have become very savy when it comes to purchasing clothing on ebay. Ebay has set up its return policies so that the seller is going to suffer. If a buyer does not want to pay return shipping, they simply have to say not as described even it it was their fault. Ebay has become a platform full of scammers. Ebay will tell you that your situation is just the cost of doing business. I have been told this. However, ebay has all their fees which is all they really care about.

ebay does not mind the seller losing money ! they just do not care but take note of the fact they never lose their fees. And now they want to manage our money lmao ! Sellers better wake up and resist stupid policy changes or it will never get better. Maybe if enough sellers take a leave of absence for awhile and they start to lose some major money they will get the idea that the sellers are fed up. They just do not care !

you have some recourse due to them cutting off the tags, if they cut them off then they have not returned them as they were sent. I would call ebay and talk to someone in returns. tell them what happened and emphasize that the buyer cut off the tags which devalues your item. take notes when you speak to the ebay rep ( ask them about neg FB removal as well, if that happens). if you get an unhelpful rep. call again , talk to someone new.
also block this person if you havent already and look at the FB they leave others, see if they do this on a consistent basis.
in the future you may consider posting the measurements since even NWT items have different measurements for the same item. good luck!

Just following up on this post. Your return policies must match eBay's standard guidelines. Because you area TRS offering 30-day returns, your recourse is that you do not have to fully refund the buyer, using the guidelines that eBay has provided on this page ... look under the "Refund deduction guidelines table" for what eBay expects. If the tags are missing, eBay considers this "fair" and you can withhold 15-30% of the refund.
If you do not act and the buyer escalates, the buyer will force a full refund and you will not have the option to do a partial refund any longer.
Remember, in doing a partial refund you will not receive back any Final Value Fees, so withholding 10% is pretty pointless.

By the way, unless you are an authorized retailer for these brands, using stock photos and descriptions is a copyright violation, and it is against eBay policies. Nike is particularly aggressive ... Under Armour can also be aggressive if it is a current style.

Just a possible humour to your story. Girls have always went to the store, bought a dress and returned it after the one wear! Now they just do it online. It's a tough time now, keep your head up!

did the buyer open a case?
You should have had the opportunity to communicate to resolve the issue or decline the return.
You should also have the opportunity to inform eBay that the item returned was not in the same condition as when you sent it.
