Well technically you ship domestically to a US hub. The EIS program does the international shipping and handles returns on their end. There's a lot of seller protection involved and a lot of hassle taken out of the international process.

You can opt out any time by clicking the link on your shipping preferences page.

Could you drop a link if possible?

The main reason I don't ship international is because it takes forever for them to take out funds. If it was instant, then I would be more inclined.

I wish I could set it to only deliver to Canada, because that doesn't seem to bad.

I've been waiting for this to happen, but my status still shows as "Not Enrolled."

They'll probably roll it out in the middle of the night so they can get as many international sales as possible before sellers who don't ship internationally have the opportunity to turn it off.  I've got better things to do than sit by my computer waiting for eBay to try to push me off this terrible platform.

Shipping Preferences: https://www.ebay.com/ship/prf

With EIS your payments are on the same schedule as a domestic sale because you're responsible for delivery to a US address.

You can restrict to Canada only. Go to your shipping preferences page above and set up an exclusion list - exclude all international locations except Canada.

@grannys-estate-barn I know to each his own but the ebay global shipping was a great program. I don't think I had one issue with it.  Much simpler, cheaper, and less risk than shipping on your own. I probably sold hundreds of GSP items, some of higher value.

Under the new program myself and my son INT. sales have plummeted. We probably averaged 8-10 GSP a week. I have done maybe 8-10 in the months I've been in it. A real shame, but point is the International shipping using the programs is pretty hassle free from my experience.

On the shipping preferences page, you can be enrolled in international shipping, but you can exclude any, or even all, international shipping locations. If you stay enrolled in the program, but exclude all locations, you can fine tune your shipping preferences for an individual listing, should you decide that you wish to market an item internationally.

Just opt out. Go to your account settings. I opted out for now until I feel like opting in. But basically you ship to their on forwarding location and eBay removed the risk from the seller.  It’s seems fine. There are buyers already on eBay that are essentially on forwarding locations too. You probably just haven’t noticed. They buy the product for the international buyer and ship it to them typically on some preset schedule.

I stopped selling internationally several years ago, but actually was looking forward to this program to help my sales.   So far, I've been very pleased with how it works.

This irritates me to no end as well. I went and opted out and then edited all of my current listings to turn International Shipping back off (they had turned it on against my will). If I still get an international order, I'll just cancel it and then close my account. I'm not running a business here. I'm just a regular person selling off stuff he doesn't need.

of course, you make your own decisions, but no need to make rush decisions. Although I don't use this program (for my <4lbs packages ebay is too expensive'), as others mentioned, you just send your item to their international hub and then ebay takes over. If there are problems with the customs, delivery etc, does not concern you anymore. If the buyer leaves you negative fb due to Item not received, ebay will remove it.

Try it, after all, you want to sell stuff (?)

Re: eBay just opted everyone IN to Int'l Shipping YOU MUST OPT OUT or are obligated to ship int'l!!!

I have had 5 sales in the last 2 months in the program. 4 to canada and 1 to Australia.  The first orders arrived promptly.  Buyers were very happy.   One order was really a total of 8 buy it nows, that I combined into 1 listing for this buyer.  The money is mine. No matter if the buyers claim that I sent a rock, will I lose my payment. No custom forms. Any negatives will be automatically removed.   This program is so good for me that I wish ALL of my sales would be international.   If you want to sell stuff that you do not need, stay in the program.  Sales are dismal as it is.

The only issue that I see is if you sell stuff with batteries.  Used clothing is banned in some countries. I am not sure if Ebay would block those buyers but so what if they don't. You got paid. You shipped the item and if the item can't be shipped, you still got paid.  Ebay will handle the refund.  It's one less item in your home.

The other issue could be for those that use store boxes. You can't use a box that says flammable or says contains batteries.  Those boxes are not permitted on airplanes.  Some countries do not allow batteries. So you would need to use a plain box or put your box in a plastic shipping envelop.

How does returns work if there is a problem? One of the reasons why I do not ship overseas is the hassles of if there a problem with the item and it has to be returned.

@slati_2013

Returns are handled by eBay. Seller is out of the sale once the item arrives at the Hub.

Refunds are from eBay's wallet.
