can you use usps flat rate boxes for ups ground saver?

I need to ship a large collection of ticket stubs to someone and trying to figure out the cheapest way to ship. i was on paypal shipstation and i put in usps large flat rate box as my package and it gave me 2 options. one was ups ground saver for like 8 bucks or the regular 2 day for like 22. i was kinda surprised it gave me that option and didnt think you could. are you able to ship ground saver using the large flat rate box?

Absolutely not, and UPS will probably refuse your package if you use USPS packaging (they don't want trouble with the post office!)

I would get a regular box of a similar size to the large FR box and send it Ground Advantage. A priority large flat rate box is under a cubic foot, so a similar size plain box would qualify for Ground Advantage Cubic rate. UPS might only be $8 (in a plain box, of course), but you could be slammed with after-the-fact surcharges and shipping "adjustments", making it in excess of the Ground Advantage Cubic rate. You can also have it picked up for free by USPS, too.

Definitely not -- USPS boxes are only to be used with the USPS services for which they are designed.

UPS is an entirely different (and competing!) shipping service.

Find or construct another similar sized box, if you plan to ship UPS Ground Saver -- but watch out for hidden fees!

A "large collection of ticket stubs" might even fit into a 9x12 bubble mailer and ship for about $6 (depending on the quantity and weight).

USPS ground advantage will be the cheapest.

I can explain it to you but I can’t understand it for you.

If you're going to use eBay shipping, then it would be more effective to use eBay's shipping calculator.  Does shipstation offer the USPS Cubic rates?

Also, if the item has already sold and the buyer has paid for a specific shipping option, then you should use that.

No.  If you use the large flat rate box, you would get billed that amount.   It's not worth it unless the item is heavy.  They are great for tools however.

By the rules, you cannot even break them down and turn inside out to use for other classes of service nor use them for packing material, even if they were already used for shipping an item.

NO you can't use any USPS materials to pack and then ship via another carrier.  Those flat rate boxes that people grab in the lobby are factored into post office shipping costs, which I think we can all agree are high enough.

I have not shipped UPS in some time, but when I did I sometimes recycled USPS boxes by turning them inside out. (these were used boxes anyway) but I don't know how that would work now. I doubt UPS would actually care, but they sometimes use USPS for the "last mile" and they sure would.
