If I understand the question correctly ... you want to mail a small flat rate box by using less postage than the small flat rate box rate.
If that were permitted, then why would the USPS bother setting a small flat box rate if you were allowed to mail it for less?

Current prices for the padded FRE are 5 cents MORE than the small FRB at al 3 pricing levels (retail, Commercial Base, and Commercial Plus).

Yes, so long as the postage paid is sufficient to cover the postage due.
Padded FRE's cover Small FRB's.
If you have to add postage, you can put a stamp along side the label.

Thanks for the correction.
Not sure I would ever do this myself since the USPS started the AVP as of Aug 1st.
My online postage for padding flat rate shows FRE across it, I just would never trust all the postal workers to let the flat rate box slide through but that is just me.

I also wouldn't attempt it even if you're using the postage for the higher rate one, I just wouldn't.
Easier to cancel the label and print a new one if you ask me.

This is what I was thinking just void the label and print the correct one

@ija440
Can you answer this one?
Is this ok to do , If the amount is more I can understand it is ok but with the label reading FRE I would really worry about using it on a small FRB .

Yes you can. Do not listen to others who say you can't.
As long as postage is more than the actual cost, which it is by 5 cents, you are good.
