After I sold an item, my buyer has requested a name and address change (to a different state). I've never ran into this before. When I attempted to change the name and address, it was flagged and states that I am not covered under the seller protection if name/address is changed. Anyone have any info on this?

Cancel the order and have them repay with the correct address.
If you send it to any other address than what is on their payment they can open INR and get a full refund.

@shianngregory You are never supposed to change the address of your buyer. Yes you will lose your seller protection, and there are so few protections for sellers. Just cancel the transaction using problem with buyer's address and have them make whatever changes they need. Then they can purchase a second time and you will be in compliance. Best of luck to you....

please cancel the sale for address problem and let the buyer know that you can relist it
try not to let the buyer make this your problem...........its not your fault but its the buyers problem

And tell them :I only ship to your confirmed Ebay shipping address. This is for your protection and mine. I will cancel this order and relist it. You can purchase this again with your confirmed Ebay shipping address updated."

This happened to me a couple of weeks ago. Buyer bought and paid for item, and then asked if I would ship to the address where she was going. I noticed she wanted name and address different than mailing label. When I suggested she notify paypal of the new address, so I could then ship where she wanted, she sent back a couple irate messages...."other sellers have done this, etc." I cancelled the order (address issues), refunded her money, and put her on my blocked buyers list. This kind of aggravation, I don't need

In order for Ebay to provide you with maximum protections, you must:
Ship to the EXACT name and address on file with Ebay.
Only ship after Ebay tells you to.
Make an HD video recording to verify contents whenever a shipment is opened or sealed.
Carefully pack each shipment to withstand the rough handling of an indifferent common carrier.
Always use Signature Confirmation.

That achieves nothing. It does not show what happened before recording started or after it ended. Ebay does not view videos.

Yes - definitely.

That is only needed to preserve your seller protection on sales of $750 or more. Below that it is not needed and only inconveniences the buyer. Delivery Confirmation gives the same tracking and seller protection for sales below $750.

Hi, as the others have said cancel with "problem with buyers address" but before doing that check and make sure the person messaging asking for a change in address is coming from the actual buyer"

Don't do it. Tell the buyer you're unable to ship to another address and ask if they'd like to cancel

Don't waste your time on that video recording suggestion.
eBay won't accept it as evidence of anything.
And how would we know what happened outside of the video?
