Wrong return address on seller's shipping label

I sold an item yesterday and printed out the label. The return address is my old address. I've since revised it in my account. Do I need to get the label re-printed or can I just cross it out and write the correct address on this label?

Re: Wrong return address on seller's shipping label

Uhm, not sure... You can probably neatly make a correction but ...
It's only important if the package somehow needs to find its way back to you, which I believe has happened to me once maybe twice in well over several thousand orders shipped... Probably just as well let this one go "as is" but make sure to inspect future labels for a bit.

I would void the label. See images below to void a label.  Purchase another label edit your return address. Then make sure all of your addresses are correct in your account settings

Re: Wrong return address on seller's shipping label

Thanks for your help. You mentioned "purchase another label". Is there a charge to get a new label?

Thank you. To be extra sure, I think I'll void the label and re-print. Do you know if there's an extra charge for that?

Re: Wrong return address on seller's shipping label

You will be charged the eBay discounted price for the new label but credited (eventually) for the one you voided.

To void a shipping label purchased through eBay, go to this page, find the order and select Void from the Actions drop-down. The void option is available for 5 days.

It takes between 2-4 weeks to receive a refund on an unused, voided label. You'll see the refund on your original source of payment (eBay funds, bank, credit card, etc) and the funds will appear in your account without an email notification.

After voiding, you can select the option to Purchase Another Label. As PJ said, you'll be charged for the new label and per timelines above, eventually see a refund for the original label.

In addition to ebooksdiva's advice on updating your ship from address, I'll add in my standard reply:

First go to this page under your account settings and update all relevant address fields. The next time you go to print a label, click on edit next to your ship from address on the right side of the page to make sure the updated address is showing before you purchase the label.

Don't forget to update the location on your listings. Go to your active listings page in seller hub, select all listings, click the edit button in the menu above your listings. From there you can use the bulk editor to change the ship from zip code on your listings to ensure accurate rates when calculated shipping is used.

It's also important if the return address and ship from address are the same - it could affect the label rate to have the wrong address in there.

Re: Wrong return address on seller's shipping label

Yes there is a charge for a new label. When you void the one with an incorrect return address you will be refunded in 2-3 weeks. You can't reprint a voided label.
Reprinting the label, you will still have an incorrect return address. Because it will reprint all the same info from the last.
