Will blizzard conditions and USPS mail not being sent/received affect my shipping defects?

We have Blizzard conditions in North East Kansas and no mail for the next 2 days.  Will I get defects for the 4 packages I cannot ship at this time? (I have one day shipping time)   I have contacted all the buyers and explained the situation and they are all OK with waiting until we have mail again (hopefully in 2 days)..

You will get dings for not getting a carrier scan within your handling time but if the shipments make it on time, those dings will fall off.

That update is dated December 4.  As you can see in the opening sentence, eBay usually posts these announcements after the storm's impact can be seen.

I imagine ebay will offer protections, but rather than depending on that, have you changed your handling time or used time away to avoid having any more packages to worry about?
