Why is there a mail icon if you cannot email Ebay????

eBay isn't the shipping service. The tracking numbers are updated by the shipping service that was used. 

If USPS was used, you can go to their website and open a lost package search. eBay would not have that information so there would be no reason to contact them, eBay did not sell you the item.

Posting your problem in the Ask A Mentor section limits the number of forum users who can respond to your question.

Your question cannot be answered by Ebay or any seller who is on this forum.

You will need to succeed in opening a where's my package message on the USPS website, which has become hard recently.

The likelihood is your package is part of a shipment which is being delayed somewhere, perhaps in a PO parking lot.

USPS has systems which can determine what shipment a package is in, and trace the shipment of the package. When you cannot open a case with USPS the alternative approach is to visit your local PO and asking for help. Make sure you have the tracking number and the destination address when you ask for help.

Many shipped items have incurred weather related shipping delays recently.

The status will not update until the item, or the container that it is in is scanned again.

There has been NO tracking info listed since January 22nd!!! The small item was shipped Jan 17th!!!! No one knows where the item is. I am afraid it is lost as well as my payment!!! Spoke with both my local Post Office and USPS and no one knows where the item is!!! They are going by the inferior "informed delivery" info that I see as well which is NOT helpful!!!! I am the destination address and I am out the money!!!! Of course I give everyone the tracking number!!! Does not help!!!

Shipped from Indiana on January 17th to New Jersey and NO tracking info since January 22nd!!!! The item is simply GONE!!!! Informed Delivery is a joke!!!! Saying the item is moving to "another facility" is NOT helpful! Which facility? Where is it located??? None of that info is listed!!!!! As helpful as a meteorologist saying "There will be weather tomorrow". Meaningless statement!!!

NOT weather related!!!! Ineptitude by employees!!!! From Jan 17 to Jan 27th is MORE than weather related!!! I am still getting mail, aren't you??? And for no one to know where the package is stuck is definitely not weather related!!!! It hasn't moved since Jan 22nd!!!!

Not uncommon.

Tracking often stalls as the mail gets delayed for a multitude of reasons.

I recently had a package leave Alanta (to be delivered in GA.) It was in transit for four days in a row. It got delivered. Took 11 days.

Just today informed delivery indicated that I would have mail. No mail arrived.

Did it miss the truck?  Did the carrier not make the rounds?

I will check tomorrow, or the next day.

Much is done by machines. Employees generally only touch your package at the start, and near the end.

They cannot scan something that is not in their possession.

If the container that your item is in has not arrived someplace.................. it cannot be scanned.

'no tracking since January 22nd'...but there is tracking but just not moving.

You can open an eBay claim one day after 'Delivery : estimated date of arrival' which show on the purchase item.

If it was a liquid...it's possible it broke and was not properly packaged or any other number of faults.

You contact the seller as well.

Where is your item coming from?

Did you know USPS has a banner across the top that shows delays in about 20 states?

Did you know a tracking last Wednesday is only 3 business days ago?

Did you know that 3 business days ago is NOT a 'lost' thing, if item shipped Ground Advantage (most are now) that it takes 2-5 'business' days, and lately, that's been more like 10 days? (2 weeks)

You my be right and your item is lost but you are not going to be out the money. You will be able put in a claim for an item not received on eBay the day AFTER your estimated delivery date.   If there is no tracking showing the item has been delivered the seller will have to refund you. I would probably would not open the claim until a week or so after the est. delivery date as the mail can be slow lately,

Gosh!!! Everyone is making the assumption that I want to contact Ebay about my missing item!!!! I want to contact them about a voucher they said was attached to the email they sent me yesterday that was NOT attached!!!! Again, this is NOT a mail delivery issue!! Amazing how people do not comprehend what they are reading!!!! Not one person answered why you cannot email Ebay which was my simple question.
