Why Does Ebay Accept Invalid Addresses??

I've tried Global Shipping  and had to opt out two days later after three international addresses came up as "Invalid". In all three, they were simple mistakes or omissions(like zipcode for Hong Kong) which were easily rectifiable by moving some text down to a lesser used address line(too many characters). With USPS I would just make the proper adjustments and print label. I cannot print label with Ebay's Global Shipping because changes were made?? I feel that lately, with the changes being made as of September 1st, that my visibility overseas has been drastically reduced due to not being enrolled in Ebay's program. International sales used to account for 30-40% of my total and have now trickled down to almost nothing. I will play their game and enroll again, but do not want to lose sales and irk future customers because I cannot print out labels for my sales. You 100% have to get your password correct to sign in and purchase something on Ebay. Why is it so hard to have a useable address on file to make a purchase as well?? And I know, I can contact buyer to change address, and follow up like that, but if you have four or five like this on a Monday morning, half my day is blown by conveying address issues to customers who often have a limited understanding of English to begin with, back and forth messages seeing if address modifications have helped, which they haven't usually on first attempt, and so on. On this occasion I lost one sale out of three, because the buyer simply refused to admit that his address was "wrong". Which it wasn't. Just too many letters on line two. Please get this problem fixed.

Why Does Ebay Accept Invalid Addresses??

I'm a bit confused.  If you were using  ebay international shipping, you ship to the US hub so you would not be printing a label with the buyer's international address.  Were you using global shipping, now called ebay international shipping or were you using ebay international standard shipping?

If you were using ebay international standard shipping in the past, you would be shipping using the buyer's international address but that program is no longer available.

As to why ebay accepts invalid addresses, I have no idea.

Why Does Ebay Accept Invalid Addresses??

No. Using Ebay's International Shipping. Would not allow me to print a label to the U.S. hub. It shows as an issue with address at first which has to be fixed to proceed. When I fix it and I put in say Hong Kong zipcode(which doesn't really have one/we use 999077 or some such), or I move a couple pieces of text to have less than 40 on one line, when I pay for all labels, it says one label could not be printed. It will not let you go forward with "problem with address" issue.

Can you post an item number for a sale that ran into this issue @lapisseadog ?

I looked at a couple of your listings and they offered direct international shipping using USPS.

So either you're having trouble with USPS, or you're using eBay International Standard Delivery, (eISD) which is a service that's being discontinued in 2 days so it won't be relevant going forward.

I did not see eBay International Shipping (eIS) on the listings I checked. If you were using eIS the address would look like: eIS C/O Buyer Name or eISLAC/O Buyer Name and the address would be a hub in Glendale Heights, IL or Commerce, CA. You would have no visibility to the buyer's international address.

If you post a listing number I can check out the shipping section of the listing to see what it shows as it's going to make a big difference in helping you solve this.

If you are using EIS (the new GSP) you only ship domestically.

My guess is you aren't using the new program.

I looked up one of your listings and your international shipping shows this.
