After I buy my ebay label, I try to print it from my Chromebook. As usual, the viewer opens, and I click on the printer icon and select my HP printer. It says it's starting to print, but then I get a chrome pop-up that says "Couldn't print. Check printer and try again." It's not the printer - I've checked it repeatedly with other print jobs from other apps and devices. In the Chromebook printer's print queue, each print job says "filter failed," whatever that means.
I've tried these things so far:
1. Rebooted both the Chromebook and printer.
2. Checked that the printer's IP address has not changed.
3. Made sure that the Chromebook and printer are on the same WiFi.
2. Deleted and recreated printer in Chrome settings.
2. Printed many other docs and pdfs from saved file and other sites with no problem to the same printer.
3. Set the chrome browser option to open pdfs in browser instead of downloaded (suggested elsewhere).
4. I can download the label as a pdf and print it from my Windows 11 laptop.
The Chromebook is updated to most recent version 115.0.5790.182 (Official Build) (32-bit)

Did you try setting your browser to open PDF files with Adobe instead of your browser's built in reader? Ebay can be picky about this.

Unless my memory is failing today, I believe "filter failed" comes up when there's an issue with the driver. Have you tried deleting the driver and installing fresh @mlpauctions ?
(Not to be confused with removing the printer from your settings and re-adding which you mentioned above.)
I just did a quick search and another common reason to get that error is if there are incorrect paper settings.
