What does the package research closed statement mean?

I don't know what has been happening with my package it goes from one postal address to another and it is not delivered I opened a case that the package was lost two days ago and now I have this status that the search for my package has been closed Who are you talking about when they mean that my package has been delivered to an agent for its final destination? I don't understand it because if they are close to the postal address my package has not been delivered? i'm desperate for my package to be delivered this is the worst experience I've had with USPS and I don't understand why my package jumps with a previous status and then goes back to another postal address it's like they're playing pin ball with my package

Delivered to agent for final delivery means:

Usually this means someone at your home received a package on your behalf, someone at work received a package for you, or your package was rerouted to an authorized agent service (like a shipping locker company or the local post office).

Typically it means it was delivered, but there’s seems to be some other issue at play. You need to go to your local post office and speak to someone.

Package research closed means that the the package has been found or delivered. In this case, they are saying that it has been delivered. Is that the same zip code as yours?

It's postal speak.   Translation:   We can't find it and have given up looking for it.
