What do I do now??

I purchased a Coach Handbag which came a few days ago. Immediately upon opening the package, I smelled cigarette smoke. Didn't even take the bag out of the box, which I set outside in the sun. I contacted the seller & she refused to answer so I took out a claim with eBay. eBay refused my claim with no explanation, except to say the seller refused. I decided to do everything I had read about getting the smell out of a bag. When I took the bag out of the box, I noticed right away that the Coach hang tag was missing. I contacted the seller and asked her to mail it to me and all she would say was that everything was sent with the bag. There's nothing in the bag & no hang tag hanging on it. I haven't been able to reach eBay any farther to make them aware of this problem. Any help you can give me as to what my options are to get the hang tag would be greatly appreciated.

Re: What do I do now??

Was the hang tag listed or pictured in the sale? Did you open a snad for the smoke smell and Ebay closed it? If so, you cant open another snad claim here. You can try opening a snad at PP,but be aware the seller will probably just tell you to return the bag for a refund, and you are responsible for return shipping.Theres no way to force her to send you the hangtag, you can voice your displeasure in your feedback.

Place dryer sheets, coffee grounds, or charcoal inside a nylon stocking or wrap them up in cheesecloth. Put this inside the item and leave for several days. For bags, you can also use an opened box of baking soda in the same way. Just like with other fabrics, fresh air and sunlight will go a long way to reducing odors.

Exactly what kind of claim did you file? If you had filed not as described, you would have been issued a prepaid return label - sellers have no choice in the matter.

Would you post a link to the listing? I'd like to see how it was described and pictured.

Re: What do I do now??

Nope as a matter of fact it's stated in eBay policy that if the notice of smells are not in the description then you have an item not as described case right then and there as I sell used items and as a seller I have had a couple of items that I forgot to put the notice in my listing about the smells and they were granted full refunds under the item not as desribed... So no matter about the tag you have a refund case with the smoke smell alone and the seller has to pay for the return shipping just as I did. I just had to do this a couple of days ago for a liter mat of all things yes something that sits next to the cats poop box she claimed SHE couldn't use it cause it had a slight smoke smell to it. Although I almost died laughing trying to picture why a HUMAN is saying she can't use something rubber that's not even for HUMAN use.... So refile the case under ITEM NOT AS DESCRIBED HAS STRONG SMOKE SMELL
