Using Postage on EBay

I was charged a total of 6$ to ship media mail via ebay postage your app keeps defaulting to 1oz weight and every time I change something it's back a 1oz. and there is no media mail option (this was a book) I checked with my post office and my charge was supposed to be $4.04. I if this continues i dont think I will use Ebay postage any longer.

Re: Using Postage on EBay

What category did you have the booklet listed in? Not all categories qualify for Media rate, some might show it, but you can't print the label for that rate unless it is in for example books, so could be bumping the postage to the minimum for the package size shown in the listing when you go to ship.

You could try clearing your browsing and cache history and see if that helps.

The community forums are other buyers and sellers, not eBay CS.

Business and Industrial category don't qualify for Media Mail.

To buy Media Mail labels, the book has to be in a category that qualifies for Media Mail.

Have a great day.

Or buy at Post Office or other non eBay online postage sellers. Some levels of USPS postage can't even be bought online from USPS, has to be in person.

If that book is mostly blank pages it might not even qualify to be shipped by Media Mail. You might want to check on that before you ship more of them. You don't want them arriving at your buyer's address with Postage Due.

Or if you item does qualify but is in a different category (I have items that qualify this way), go to Pirate Shio and print your postage there.

I don't plan on using EBAY postage either. You are exactly right, just another way for them to take  money from us. I always say I don't know hat something weighs then they decide to take it to 1oz. I just lost money on a sale because of it, even the lady at the post office said it happens all the time. A lot needs to be fixed on Ebay.

I don't know about the l oz thing. No experience about that, but you didn't sell anything under this ID that would qualify for media rate so don't send it that way.

That is a user created situation. Nothing for eBay to fix there.

As the seller you need to know what the item weighs. Do you expect eBay to know that so that you "do not lose money"?

Who is this "they" that decided "to take it to 1oz"?

I can't think of ANY books that weigh only 1 ounce.

Perhaps you should purchase a postal scale.

Re: Using Postage on EBay

just putting my two cents in I got a great scale for little money. Its a "Horizon SF-550" digital scale thru Amazon.  Wasting money I also bought a 2 Kilogram weight to calibrate it. Hasn't been off yet so no adjusting.

Works great.
