I am a bit new to eBay, and encountered my first "return" situation.
I received the wrong item I sorted it out through messages, instead of using the "return" feature on actions for the item. After investigating the "return" feature, I was under the impression that it was returning / refunding the item instead of exchanging for the correct one. Probably dumb of me.
I checked in with the seller, who told me to send it back for exchange / refund and I sent it using my own label and not going through the eBay return system as I didn't think that was the correct method at the time. Lo and behold after research it was.
The item arrived there today and I am confident I will receive the correct item in return but I am a bit worried and I'm feeling a bit dumb. Will this be harmful in any way? If something goes wrong, do I still have the money back guarantee?
Thanks..
