Unable to open case. Estimated date passed.

So im trying to open a case for a package that was never even shipped. The latest estimated delivery date was January 4th, 2020. It is now currently January 5th, 2020 and the site will not let me open a request. Whenever I select "my item hasn't arrived" it just says "your item may still be on the way, wait until estimated delivery date has passed" which it clearly says is 1/4/2020 and it is clearly 1/5/2020 right now.

Ive sent pkgs that didnt update the tracking until the day they arrived in the destination city, this is USPS fault..not the seller's, think you jumped the gun on that feedback.

Sorry, this whole thing has just got me so upset. I spent $165 on this item and it never had an acceptance scan, was supposed to arrive on Tuesday, and now hasn't had a scan or update in over 5 days.. 😞 just really stressful and I suffer from anxiety and pannick attacks 😞

That still doesn't give you an excuse to neg a seller, even if they are rude to you.  Remember that if the package doesn't arrive, you are covered by eBay's buyer protection policy which they call the "Money back guarantee" and you can get a full refund if the seller cannot provide tracking that shows a delivery scan.

As others have noted, the USPS clearly has the package, since the "In transit" message never appears for packages that aren't in the system.  If you look at the tracking on a regular computer rather than through the app, there's a longer, more reassuring message from usps:

As another poster has noted: When you started this thread it was still January 4 on the west coast. eBay's delivery estimates are notoriously optimistic. Please give this seller until at least Tuesday or even Wednesday before you file your 'Item not received" claim.

Finally, at the risk of aggravating you further, I'll point out that the listing charged you for Priority Mail shipping in a small flat rate box, but the tracking number shows that the item was mailed via First Class.   This is another way in which the seller has behaved badly.  A deck of cards could be a rather small package that could be lost or overlooked in the big sorting centers or containers of larger boxes.  Still, I recommend that you try to be patient for a few more days.  The package  is now in USPS's hands and they are responsible for getting it to you.

No I am perfectly justified in submitting a negative feedback. I spent 165$ on a package, the seller charged me for priority mail but shipped with the cheaper first class instead, the package was supposed to arrive 6 days ago, tracking never had acceptance scan, and now no updates, I called USPS and submitted 2 different investigations for the package that both came up with nothing, I then contacted the seller about it and he told me that I was a spoiled brat, that my message was annoying and whiny and that he didn't even read it all, that he didn't care that my package didn't arrive, that he wouldn't help me figure it out, and that he wouldn't issue a refund no matter what. So that absolutely calls for a negative review, I don't care who you are.

Your earliest estimate of 6 days ago was way over ambitious of eBay. Especially with the holiday. The seller has a three business day handling time.  Which puts shipping at about the 27th but with Christmas in there I as Buyer would be understanding that it would a business day late which would have been until Monday the 30th.  The latest estimate of the 4th is what matters.  But the item was in usps system it’s their error that it’s not moving not the sellers.   Generally speaking the difference in speed between first class and priority is minor.  The delay likely doesn’t have anything to do with that difference.  It’s likely sitting somewhere forgotten about by usps again not the sellers error there

ill agree the seller should maintain professional. You did email before the latest estimate of delivery and no clue what your message said so I can’t judge on the response to harshly

You need to start an Item Not Received refund request today, Sunday, then come back and escalate early on Thursday morning to get your refund.

Do not close the request even if your seller contacts you now. If the item arrives (it won't) before Thursday then fine, the case closes and your feedback is removed.

Your seller @calgr-6720 never mailed any package to you: It just bought the cheapest label at a self-service kiosk inside a post office, then uploaded that tracking number.

We have no bahamas today.

Not true. My other packages that we're shipped priority all arrived already and were updated all along the way. Before, during, and after the holiday.

How fast those packages arrived has no bearing on this one.  It could have had the exact same issue with priority.  It’s in the system it shows Usps has it but that it hasn’t moved with them for three days

3 days? There hasn't been an update since 12:00am on the 1st. It's now the 5th. That's 5 days. Do the math.

And myangekandmyprincess I really don't understand why your siding with the seller on this. The seller has been blatantly and obviously unprofessional and innapropriate. He charged me for a more expensive shipping type then used a cheaper one without asking or telling me, I mean seriously?? You seriously are siding with this guy acting like im im  one at fault? Incredible...

Not once have i said you were at fault for anything.  I even said The seller should have been more professional with their reply to you.   Didnt say it was ok to ship a cheaper method but I did say that this isn’t because of the cheaper method used.  Even for first class sitting in one spot for a few days isn’t the norm so the delay in movement isn’t because of the different shipping method it’s because USPS has this item sitting somewhere getting overlooked not getting picked up to continue its journey.  Whether it’s been sitting there three four or five days that’s something not in the sellers control.

Here is the thing with opened a case right now as you have done.  If the item shows movement before the case can be escalated the seller can call eBay and have more time allowed for the item to be delivered before it can be escalated. If it ends up showing delivered you lose the case the feedback gets removed.   It pays off for the buyer to be patient sometimes.

Sometimes things are slow to arrive. Seller should not be rude. Buyer should be a bit more patient. Just had 1st Class arrive in 2 days. Had Priority take 9.

USPS has the package. "package received by USPS does not show if the seller did not physically send something.  The "In transit" is just an "event code" that shows automatically when no other scan is made after acceptance.  Package could be in the bottom of a mail sack because someone did not empty the sack properly. Could show the next time the sack is used. Big poker game in Santee tonight?

Weekends and Holidays don't count. Even the USPS gets to take a holiday.

If you talked to the seller the way you talk to people here, I understand why you were called a brat.
