USPS pricing issue

Unless I am missing something there is a problem as you can see in the screen shot...the item in question weighs in the 1-4oz Ground Advantage in a 2x6x9 package. It is going to Calif. and is set at 1-4 oz in a 2x6x9 ad is showing the buyer paid 5.20 (bought last night) and went to print shipping label and is showing my cost is 5.52....(today)...this one will be cancelled.

No, there's nothing wrong with the buyer's address. The honest answer is that you set your (fixed) shipping price too low to cover the increase in postal rates. You did NOT use calculated shipping. Had you done so, you wouldn't have had to cover the $.32 additional cost.

How about considering that 32 cents a cheap education? @wastingtime101 was even helpful enough to point out your other listings in which you'll have the same undercharged postage so you know which listings need fixing.

Re: USPS pricing issue

USPS prices went up effective 1/18 so it looks like you calculated on the older rates.

But why would you cancel and get a ding? (You did choose an honest reason for the cancellation, right? Like OOS?)

Re: USPS pricing issue

Hi @quicksilverdiecast . eBay billed the exact cost on your listing.

Item 376773636716 was set up with a flat shipping cost of $5.20, regardless of buyer location. This is different from your other listings which are charging calculated retail rates.

Re: USPS pricing issue

Must be missing something.  Why would our OP cancel this sale & risk having an unhappy customer & possibly receiving "The Deadly EBay Ding" or a negative feedback over a few pennies?

Re: USPS pricing issue

By the way @quicksilverdiecast - you have a bunch of listings with a flat ship cost of $5.20 or $5.40.

Before you start cancelling more orders over a few dimes, you might want to make some adjustments.

Examples:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/376773636716

https://www.ebay.com/itm/376831460737

https://www.ebay.com/itm/376751284023

https://www.ebay.com/itm/365283592383

You can go through the rest of your listings yourself.

Re: USPS pricing issue

This is why it's important to select the correct shipping DATE when you generate the label.

What does ship date have to do with it @kibble-net ? Seller charged a flat ship cost of $5.20 - that has no impact on what the label actually costs, regardless of ship date.

Re: USPS pricing issue

You are going to cancel a transaction over 32 cents? Eat the difference and ship the item the buyer paid for. Sometimes in certain situations it's not worth the hassle dealing with an unhappy buyer.

Re: USPS pricing issue

Yeah its horrible eBay charged the buyer exactly what you told eBay to charge the buyer.

As always @quicksilverdiecast your logic is sound.  🙃

Re: USPS pricing issue

Why cancel an order and take an OOS ding over 32 cents?

Have a great day.
