Hi all, i shipped a item to a buyer last week using usps first class. And on Thursday, it said out for delivery at 7:15, then at 11:15, the tracking said USPS pick up item. Now the tracking said the item is awaiting delivery scan.???And the buyer open a case to against me. What should i do on this? It is the first time that USPS said pick up item after out for delivery. I have no idea what is going on there.

They might have scanned it picked up and not delivered. Call the 800 number on the USPS web site. They can pull up a lot more info than what is posted on line. With luck they can find the package.

I had one that went about 150 miles away show as going to the local PO and out for delivery, then scan at the regional center and back to the local PO and back out for delivery.

No idea what happened there, you more or less have to do the detective work yourself to sort it out and this did get delivered.

I would give it one day to see what happens if you have time on the case. But there's a chance the buyer refused delivery or something and is trying to scam you.

Yeah. I call the local post office, and the manager said the driver remember that she had dropped off in the mail box and forgot to scan it. However, when i ask them to change the delivery status, they said they have to go and check it again, then scan it as delivered for me. And when i ask them what if there is no package because the buyer already took it, they said then we have to contact the buyer.

Typical stuff you may see with USPS wacko tracking mistakes right now and risky to use them for this reason along with late deliveries.

I called them yesterday and today. So, the usps officer said that they had contact the receiver, but the receiver said he didn't receive it. I don't know if he lies or not because on my previous call with the usps manager, and she said the driver remember that she dropped off the package in the mail box and just forgot to scan it. Now usps said they will have to do more research on it. So i guess i might lost it.

She didn't "forget" to scan it; the tracking clearly shows that she scanned it as a pickup instead of a delivery. If that has not been pointed out to them already, I strongly suggest phoning them back and having them look at the tracking themselves.

I call them back yesterday, and explain the whole situation again. But the officer said that they did come to the address twice and ask the receiver, however, the buyer is saying that he didn't receive it. And the officer said, they had checked all places, mail box, street, and the carrier car. They just couldn't find it. I told them that on my first call, one officer at your location told me that the carrier did put it inside the mailbox and just forgot to scan it, and on the tracking, it shows that the carrier did scan it at 11:42 the same day, but probably she scan it as pick up instead of delivered. So if they pick up, where is my package? And what happen if the receiver lies because he wanna get free stuff. The officer reply me that the carrier is not sure she scan it or not, she said if she drop off, she will 100% scan it as delivered. So he is very sorry about the problem, and he let me go to usps.com to file a claim and hope can get some compensation. It is a first class mail, so i think they won't pay me anything on it. And today i had lost the case, ebay had refunded the buyer.
