I hope I did it wrong but I just looked into USPS dimensional weight rate change in June, I sell fishing rods using USPS box that is 38"x6"x5", which run 1-2 lbs but if I did it right dim rate would put them at 7 lb. If I did that right I'm out of business, I just checked on a fishing rod I just sold to WA and will increase shipping $10. Shipping today would be $9.85 and in June it will be $21, even more with increase the 27th. Honestly there's NO way I could double shipping rate and still sell fishing rods, that's half my income, I can't even image the tackle boxes I sell would cost.

glad you found an even better way but you say it was a 3x3x3 square box - I'm assuming one of those 3s means 3 feet long & the other two are 3" for the square dimensions.

Yeah this new rate is pretty ridiculous
I usually ship helmets, weighing 4-5 lbs
The most I've ever paid was 24$ shipping on from CA to NY
The new rate shipping one from CA to NV was 80$ for parcel select ground....
Bunch of Bull**bleep** if you ask me
Especially with Jeff bezos being involved with it all
I buy antiques and collectibles. USPS just destroyed my hobby. I went to buy an antique teddy bear I saw with a buy it now option. It is only 18 inches long and about 8 inches wide and only weighs a few pounds. Shipping costs to NY, $49! Other sellers closer to my zone were charging $27+. It used to cost me about $10.95-$18.95 in shipping costs for things roughly this size. This is absolutely ridiculous and sadly I am not going to be buying as many things anymore. I feel bad for ebay sellers who list larger items for sale. Sales are going to tank.
Amazon is the devil as far as I am concerned because they probably pay $5 to ship the same item that would cost me $59. I'm tired of paying more at the post office to benefit greedy companies who use that benefit to undercut small businesses.

One lesson that I have learned is that anytime I offer flat shipping or free shipping the buyer will always be from Alaska or Washington state or the west coast (I'm in Missouri). Never seemed to fail.
