Hello All,
I know the pandemic is messing a bunch of things up lately but I am curious to see if others are noticing longer than normal delays with USPS priority mail. This week I have had (that buyers have brought up to me) 10 packages drop off of tracking. It seems they end up arriving but instead of 2 days it is taking 8-10, with a 4 day drop off in tracking updates.
Is anyone else experiencing this right now or am I somehow getting very unlucky?

I had a DISASTROUS month with the USPS in March with pick ups and tracking. Unfortunately I'm in the NYC area and my regular carrier was sick with corona so I had a rotating group that was covering for him. Some days they didn't bother to come, other days they didn't scan anything and neither did the p.o. when they brought them in. I've always been diligent in watching the tracking to make sure things were moving smoothly, but gees, March gave me gray hairs. My carrier came back this past Monday PTL!!! But things are still moving slowly through their processing centers. I am very sympathetic to the post office and know that they have a large group of workers out either sick or in isolation because of exposure. I just hope that corona doesn't destroy my rep with ebay for late arrivals. A one day extension to the USPS guaranteed delivery date does nothing for me. All deliveries are moving slower.

I have received 3 INRs so far. One showed it was delivered the day before and the other 2 were in transit but hadn't moved in over a week. Both buyers were understanding, but asked to be refunded. If you do that I suggest you go to the USPS site and fill out a missing mail form. It will ask what the item was, buyer's and seller's addresses, tracking #, etc. It will also ask where you want it sent if it is found. I only recently started filling it out, usually only filled out the "Where's My Mail?" form, but on the Missing Mail for you can request that it be sent back to you if found. Then you will at least get your item back. In 9 years of steady selling and about 40 "lost" items that were refunded, all but 2 were eventually delivered and only 1 of those people offered to repay for the item

Both my media mail & first class packages are not getting scanned for several days so appears I am a late shipper.Priority has always been scanned so far.My PO has not been very busy so unsure why the scan delays.

That is why I don't have carrier pick ups. I have had trouble with them always. They don't get picked up next day always, and if they are picked up on time they get them very late in day after delivering all the mail in my neighborhood and majority of them don't get scanned. My post office is only 3 blocks away. I was shipping every single day but since this mess has occurred the kids are out of school and I can't get out to ship only once or twice a week. SO I changed my handling time to 10 business days instead of 1 or 2 days. I haven't had any issues with buyers and I don't wait that long to ship, I just want to be covered just incase I can't get out right away to drop off packages and I will not take kids out. Don't always have someone to watch my youngest. My schedule way more hectic too since they are schooling at home. So between teaching my 1st grader, and all the normal home things that need to be done and I can't run errands or grocery store til after 5pm when someone else home. It has really messed things up.
I kinda rambled there....lol but yea, I don't do the carrier pickups, never have good luck and my regular mailman retired so we got a new person every few days and been that way for 3 months now. I have people ask me all the time why dont I just schedule a pick up, this is why. Safer to drop and have them scan at counter. Packages are getting to destinations on time with first class and priority.

Thanks for bringing this issue up. I had to refund one buyer already for a slow moving book sent with media mail. I sent out a higher priced item and upgraded it to Priority Mail on my dime to avoid that problem again. Some show up alright on time. Things I buy for myself are mostly coming on time to me.

Before all of this happened I avoided home pick up of my packages like the plague. (Kinda apropos!) I went to the post office in the town next to mine every day to hand my packages to the worker at the counter to get the package scanned and get a receipt. I'm friends with all of the people there.
Once we had the stay at home order, and the virus was spreading in my area, I went to scheduling a home pick up on the website. (I volunteer grocery shop for several high risk seniors and need to keep my risk of exposure as low as possible.)
At first, the carrier would pick up the packages and sometimes scan. It was in the last few weeks that even with a scheduled pick up and with or without a scan sheet, they would completely ignore the boxes under the mail box (indoors) and walk away. As I mentioned before, I then had to chase them down the road to give them the boxes and they just seemed totally ignorant of the fact that they left them.
I still have three packages out in USPS Land that have no scans whatsoever .... and several more moving like turtles through the system.
My store is currently on vacation until further notice because I cannot afford to refund for late/missing packages nor all the sleep that this makes me lose. Not to mention the 'defects' from eBay and/or bad feedback from buyers who don't understand.

Ebay does not monitor the community page and respond. We don't think they even read messages we send customer support.
They will rule in the buyers favor if the buyer submits a INR case. This has happened to us already even though the purchase is still moving, albeit slowly, from us to the buyer.
As a result the buyer will ultimately end up with the purchase now shipped by seller gratis as eBay not only refunded the purchase price but the overseas shipping cost.
It is exceedingly unequitable.
We have no optimism the overseas buyer will pay us a upon purchase arrival as multiple messages to buyer asking for patience during these unusual times fell on deaf ears.
Our only recourse will simply be to block buyer from future purchases and omit overseas shipping on all of our sales. This will hurt us but eBay won't feel anything.

Yes. I've had a couple/few.
Sent out 3 packages on the 13th, 2 priority mail and one first class. The first class package was delivered on the 16th, the 2 priority packages are "in transit".
I sent two packages on the 16th and they are "in transit".
I'm expecting a return, label printed on the 13th, received by P.O, on the 16th and 17th it's been double scanned at 3 different locations in NJ and it's now in Detroit. "in transit". I just processed the refund to be done with it.

I have my mail carrier pick up my packages -- I ALWAYS schedule the pick-up as I find they are always scanned that way - before scheduling - they would sometimes not get scanned for 1 or more days later..

Waiting on 2 deliveries (shipped out 11/12th) One is even local.. how hard is it to walk 20 blocks?
