USPS delays, tracking not updated, numerous orders

Hello All,

I know the pandemic is messing a bunch of things up lately but I am curious to see if others are noticing longer than normal delays with USPS priority mail. This week I have had (that buyers have brought up to me) 10 packages drop off of tracking. It seems they end up arriving but instead of 2 days it is taking 8-10, with a 4 day drop off in tracking updates.

Is anyone else experiencing this right now or am I somehow getting very unlucky?

Ive had multiple packages go the opposite direction detours but end up in the right place eventually.

This is what just happened to me. I am one state up on the west coast. Maybe my item needed a vacation?

I now hear there are 70 truckloads of mail just sitting in Detroit.  I suppose things are backed up at other sorting facilities?

I had one ship to MI on the 13th, shows no movement whatsover till today.  Now it's out for delivery.

I have another to MI that at least shows it was picked up from my PO on the 15th and nothing beyond that.

Both priority.

Our postmistress  knows she has a lot of eBay sellers to take care of (I'm just small potatoes.)

She and her crew of 2 make sure everything is scanned before it leaves her PO at 1:30 in the afternoon.  In 15 ears, they have missed one scan.

What happens after that is anyone's guess.  A recent Priority went to VA by way of Salt Lake City, but it got there. 🙂

My PO scans all my boxes as well, I ship about 70 a week.  I looked at a bunch of tracking numbers, and many in the last few weeks don't show my PO or the local hub on the tracking even days after delivery.

I've had Priority get to me in 3 days...and then some show no movement at all. Problems with local delivery as well. We have to leave a note in the mailbox to PLEASE take the outgoing mail. The sub is brain dead.

From tracking it appears that in many areas the USPS system is in total melt down.  Never seen this many packages just go dark in the system. Plus having packages dropped off in the morning not showing acceptance scans until late the next day.   What a mess.

I usually drop my packages in the outgoing mail slot at my local post office at 6:30am each morning and by late evening they are scanned in either Wilmington DE, South Jersey, or Philadelphia.  In the past 2 days I have mailed 79 packages the same as I usually do and not a single one has received a scan anywhere.   I am going to give it another couple days and try waiting in line at the Post Office to get a scan sheet scanned. But regardless of getting the scan sheet scanned it doesn't matter if the packages are going to be delivered late.  Ebay is still treating INR cases the same except they extended their ridiculous delivery dates by 1 day.  It is taking longer for packages to get through a sorting facility than ebay is allowing for the entire delivery time.  If this continues another couple days I will have to stop selling.  I cannot afford to lose/refund 40 orders a day.

But Covid is gonna take em out 😉
