Hello All,
I know the pandemic is messing a bunch of things up lately but I am curious to see if others are noticing longer than normal delays with USPS priority mail. This week I have had (that buyers have brought up to me) 10 packages drop off of tracking. It seems they end up arriving but instead of 2 days it is taking 8-10, with a 4 day drop off in tracking updates.
Is anyone else experiencing this right now or am I somehow getting very unlucky?

The situation in my state (CO), already a hot mess, appears to be getting worse..

I keep tracking all of my "in transit" packages --- just to see if they ever show up.
A domestic first class package that I shipped (and had a rare acceptance scan) on MARCH 31st is finally scheduled to be delivered today. Of course, the INR was filed and I refunded several weeks ago.
(Thank you everyone for keeping this thread updated ----- reminding me that my decision to put my store on vacation until further notice was a good one.)

I live in Illinois. I'm in a suburb that is northwest of Chicago.
It kills me that I am home all this time and just can't rationalize the risk of selling. I have some stuff I could be photographing and readying for when things are "back to normal", but can't get motivated. From what our politicians are saying it could be another few months. And, even then, who knows when the USPS will be reliable again.
(The saga of the missing package continues --- checked this morning and the tracking reads :
Delivery Attempted - No Access to Delivery Location) Hmmmmmmm. 🤔

It has been 11 Business Days, Media Mail estimates 8-10 Business days. The item is still "In Transit" but I have now lost the item, the value of the item, the eBay fees, the PayPal fees and the shipping cost. I guess the buyer will get the item for free when it is eventually delivered. I'm not a store that expects to lose items every now and then, so I'm pretty upset about losing money. It would be one thing to lose the item, but I lost more than the value of the item with all the fees eBay/PayPal kept plus shipping.
Pretty ridiculous for eBay to not extend the time frame before INR cases can be filed with everything going on because they seem aware of the impact of the pandemic since they suspended their phone support which is making this even more frustrating since I can't call support to discuss. Probably won't sell on eBay again after this.
Well they were certainly willing to extend the time a buyer had to get a return into the mail stream due to the pandemic so you'd think a little extra time for packages to make it from seller to buyer might be not too much to ask.
My carrier was saying the other day the mail crush is even worse than Christmas and added to that they have mail being rerouted due to temporary closures all over for extra cleaning etc when COVID cases pop up at USPS facilities. Then there's less planes flying for PM mail etc.

Seems like anytime ebay says to sellers "we've got your back" you need to feel for the knife in it.

Well, I wish I could blame the virus on my USPS issues. Unfortunately my problems with them have been going on for 5yrs.
Everything I ship from my local PO that has tracking always shows accepted and departed post office . 80% of those don't show up at the distribution center for 5-15 days. The distribution center is 61 miles away. About 15% don't show movement at all past the PO. Only about 5% actually move normally.
99% of everything I ship from a post office in another district that is 40 miles away (same distribution center) moves normally. About 1% has a delay of 1-2 days.
According to the local post master for my district, all packages should be scanned into the distribution center within 12hrs of leaving the post office. Everything should leave the distribution center within 48hrs depending on the type of package class. First class, media mail, priority, etc..
This is all true when I ship from another district. Not my local district.
When I call the post master and complain, I am told its the size of the package. Says my packages are too small. But when I show her all the tracking numbers that move normally from another district with the same type of packaging, she says, well, I don't know. My response is, FIND OUT!!! Y'all killing me!!
Then I found out a couple weeks ago about someone else that also ships a lot of ebay stuff from the same local post office. Using smaller packaging than mine. He said he never has delay problems. So I pull out my tracking numbers and compare to his. 80% of the time, we ship on the same day. When I asked the post master about this, I was told that is private information and I had no business asking the other guy about it. Since I mentioned this, 3 times everything I sent from the post office after that date has returned to post office. Not making it to the distribution center. Sounds a lot more now like I'm being targeted. So I looked this up criminal code and shared it with the post master. https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/1703
I have also reached out to the post master general.
For now, I only ship from the post office in the other district 3 days a week. Unfortunately its so far to drive.
FYI.. Baton Rouge is the sorting center.

I'm experiencing the same thing as a buyer and a seller . I sent out a box to a buyer due to be delivered April 29th and it's gone totally missing . I'm also receiving purchased items that I had plum given up on ever arriving . I guess due to the pandemic none of this can be helped . It's just another negative issue we will need to tolerate until all of this is finally over . It's probably best to forewarn buyers of the possible delays in arrival times or bump up the handling days for the time being . Tulips

eBay, please, it's time to step up and address this issue. Delays are still rampant. There needs to be a message at checkout about these delays, and the resolution center needs to change for the time being. Buyers should not be allowed to open cases for items not received if our tracking shows the item was dropped off or picked up until this pandemic settles down. At the least, eBay needs to figure out a way to notify buyers about this, on every transaction. Not an email blast, it should be included on the check out page.
