I need to be able to print USPS SCAN forms for shipments during the holidays as my post office gets busy and they're asking that I provide them when dropping off more than a few shipments. It's a reasonable request and printing a SCAN form on Etsy is so ridiculously easy that I feel like ebay purposely made it difficult.
1. I can't get to the page to generate a SCAN form unless I select multiple orders that i've already shipped and pretend i'm re-purchasing shipping for them. That is the ONLY way to get to the page to generate a SCAN form. Seriously ebay?
2. Once i'm on the page to generate a SCAN form, ebay decides what's on that scan form to drop off based on shipping labels i've generated for todays date only. I print labels multiple times a day during the busy season and make one trip to the post office. I should be able to decide which shipments are included on that SCAN form, but I have no say. Today, I have two ebay shipments to go to the post office. One I printed the shipping for last night. One was printed this morning. SCAN form only has the label I printed this morning, not the one last night. That's pointless.
On Etsy, from the completed orders page, all I have to do is click the box next to each order I want included in the SCAN form I want to generate. Once I've clicked each box, there is a big, easy to find "CREATE USPS SCAN FORM" button on the top of the page that once I click, every order I selected to be included in that SCAN form is included on that scan form, regardless if I purchased and printed shipping the day before or the current day.
trinton@ebay acknowledged this was an issue and said it would be taken to the development team, three years ago. And nothing's been done since about it? https://community.ebay.com/t5/Shipping-Returns/How-to-generate-and-print-a-USPS-SCAN-sheet/td-p/2803...
Since it's clear this isn't a priority for ebay, can anyone tell me how they get around this ridiculousness? Or have I figured out all there is to figure out and this is what we're stuck with, I just can't do it?

I wouldn't trust the scan forms. If the post office is too busy to scan the packages one by one then void your labels and have them generate postage for each package one by one. Those packages are 100% your responsibility until they are scanned. A batch of packages goes missing without an acceptance scan and your business will be ruined. You will be considered a common theif.

I appreciate that you took the time to reply but what do you think a SCAN form is? One barcode and all the packages are scanned as USPS in possession of the item. Is that not correct?

The scan form you printed for today's packages was at the top of a list of scan forms from previous days. Just move down the list for yesterday's scan form,, which will only include package labels printed after the last scan you printed earlier in the day.

My post offices love the scan sheets - I have two different POs close by. Neither one has complained when I give them two stacks and a different scan sheet for each stack. Or a scan sheet for 16 packages and one that "came later" and needs to be scanned by itself.
The once the clerk screwed up, the sort center scanned received before end of the day so I was still on time. (which is what happens when I use the bin).

this is how i usually do it too, but now the scan form events on the tracking are showing as "package received, acceptance pending" - is this happening with yours as well? wondering if usps made a change to the wording? Confusing b/c as you can see in one of my sceen shots one package even got an "origin acceptance" scan several days after the "package received, acceptance pending" event which is what showed up when they scanned my scan form.

yes, that is what a scan form is supposed to be - but jbjbj_7 is correct - i have been told in the past direct from ebay that having a package scanned as accepted via a scan form "does not prove that i brought the package to the post office" since the individual package was never scanned. very stupid and worrisome.

We also really, really need this option from eBay.
We ship as orders come in throughout the day, so bulk shipping does not work for our business, nor do we like doing that option since all of our items are different, not same item, high quantities.
Our postal clerks are understandably frustrated that they have to hand scan all our items. Especially through the past couple months when they have been so busy, short staffed, and backed up.
EBAY: WHEN WILL YOU MAKE THIS HAPPEN?!?!?
Amazon does it, many shipping programs and other selling platforms do it. Common eBay......

1. The option to print a scan form is presented to you any time you print shipping labels in bulk. First print your labels in bulk and then click on Print USPS SCAN form. To generate the current batch into a SCAN form, select Generate.
Once you generate a scan form, those labels are on that scan form only and cannot be added to future scan forms. If you print additional labels later that day, you will need to generate a second scan form for those.
2. Any scan form can only contain labels from a single date. Yesterday's shipments require their own scan form, you cannot combine shipments from multiple dates on one scan form. So, if you have shipments you created on Thursday, you can generate a scan form for those but they cannot go on Friday's form. You can't pick and choose individual labels to go on the form. All labels printed that day will go on that form. If you just want one scan form for the whole day, just wait until after midnight Pacific time to begin printing your labels, then they will all be on the same date.
The easiest way is just to print your labels in bulk all in one shot and immediately generate a scan form and take everything to the post office. Then wait until the next day and repeat.
