It fits small/slim shoe boxes. Check the dimensions.

What size is the sneaker box? The P O Shoe Box measures 7.5" x 14" x 5.25"

This is not the largest box...but one I used a week ago.

The medium and large flat rate boxes are rarely a good value for the money - especially on something that's not very heavy like shoes.

Person posting here asked about USPS Priority Boxes...not about cost.
I for one don't care about cost if I sell one big item every six months or so.
For me my time is more important than looking for a nickel and dime shipping rate. No offense.

I'd hardly call it a "nickel and dime" shipping rate; it's a significant price difference @12345jamesstamps . No need to go looking for the lower shipping rate. Just use a plain box instead of the flat rate box and you'll almost always pay significantly less by weight instead of flat rate.
For example, I just purchased a Priority label for a 12 x 12 x 8 box (Priority Box #7 linked above), 4 lbs to zone 4 which cost me $7.09.
If I used a 11 x 8.5 x 5.5 medium flat rate box that would cost $14.38 on eBay or $18.40 at retail.
If I used a 12 x 12 x 5.5 large flat rate box that would cost $19.51 on eBay or $24.75 at retail.

Yup, there's a whole lot of nickels and dimes in an $11 overpayment🤣

I agree with you...but when you live in a city like San Francisco and just a drink out with the boys is 7 bucks and it's more than just one drink....4 or 5 bucks doesn't matter when your having a great time with company.

Never mix business with pleasure. 😉

Depends where one lives...Living in San Francisco and an $11 overpayment might get you drink in my city with a tip. So my time is important.

$11 loss gets you nothing 😂

It takes me no more time to pick a non-flat rate priority or plain brown box from my shipping supplies than it would to pick a flat rate box from my supplies.
Buy the label online, carrier picks it up.
That $11 savings could be put back into the business, or spent on that drink, or passed as cost savings to the buyer by not charging them as high of a price thereby generating more sales and more income.
I save a ton of time by not going to the post office, waiting in line, and paying the high price at the retail counter.
I guess I don't understand where the time savings is coming in for you. Perhaps you never have a plain box on hand because you mostly ship stamps in envelopes?
Even if I didn't regularly stock various sized boxes for my business, I would easily have plain boxes on hand from incoming purchases. If I sold stamps then decided to list a pair of sneakers, all I'd have to do is save a box from a recent purchase and put it aside before I listed the sneakers. No time spent and lost going to the post office to get a flat rate box. If no incoming packages, then order priority boxes for free online and they are delivered to my door. Then list the item, sell it, buy label online, carrier picks it up. Seems pretty time-efficient to me. 🤷

They used to have a priority shoe box. Don't know if they still do. It was not a special rate box.
