I am worried... what happens in this scenario...? This has never happened to me before. My return parcel got from NY to Cincinnati in 2 days then all tracking stopped as of Thursday July 16. It's destination is Kentucky, very large flat box ( so No chance of that thing slipping under a radar). The value is over $100 and I would really like my refund but I understand this is not the seller's fault.
I did not use Paypal and Ebay has been of no help ( can't get a straight answer) thus far. Worst case scenario, I would contact my bank if there is no movement in another week?
I have already opened a claim per USPS and no response except automated from them as yet. I can't recall ever having had a package do this before.

USPS has recently put in mandates of no overtime (you can google USPS overtime memo for more details - Washington post has a good article). In this letter they state that items may get delayed for several days due to this as packages will sit until they are able to get to them.
There are all kinds of Postal slow downs right now. I personally have an item that has not moved in 9 days now, it only needs to go about 45 miles. This is frustrating but, it nothing anyone can do. It will eventually move but, you will need to be patient.
That being said, you should contact your seller. Let them know you are having this issue and start an open conversation with them.

Have you contacted the seller about this?

I have recently had packages stall at various facilities. Like you, I filed a tracking request with USPS. The packages either moved or were delivered quickly.
You don't say how long ago you filed your request so you may just have to wait a few days.
Good luck and stay on top of it.

I have... and they have been nothing but pleasant but I'm not sure they understand my concern as I got a sort of formula response lol. I called Ebay and was told the return cases auto closes on July 31. Since the seller provided the label it seems the burden is on them but I could not get a clear response.

I filed my request 4 days ago. Thank you. I called Ebay again and it seems the return will close on July 31. Let's hope the package moves to its destination by then.

9 days for 45 miles?!!! Talk about frustrating!!
I will try to be patient at least until July 31 when my return case closes. If I see no movement by the 30th I will have Ebay extend the case or see if the seller will make a concession.

I will update next week...

I also saw a story on TV news of how USPS has slowed down due to Covid-19 (various reasons given), and I have noticed slower service in my USPS deliveries in the last week or so. Also, packages aren't getting scanned in right away when dropped off at a station, or picked up by my carrier. So they seem to be taking a lot of shortcuts lately in the service they are giving customers! This not a good situation for Ebay sellers who commit to 1-day shipping. I may have to change my shipping time to 2-3 days to stay off the "Ebay Naughty List", although that's not my preference.

I received a call about my USPS case from the parcel's destination PO in Kentucky, very pleasant lady said sometimes returns take longer than normal Priority packages and she felt it was still very much on it's way. I hope so.

I noticed that the case I opened with USPS was closed... even though there was no actual resolution ( meaning still not a hint of movement). It's actually been about 11 days total now counting non business days ( July 16 was last scan)
I opened a new case, this time for actual missing mail not just the preliminary form I filled out last time. I really have never had this happen before, not even with packages that go through customs...
The clock is ticking on my Ebay return case so this makes me a bit anxious. It's not like I have forever to return it and honestly I'd really like my $$ back too.

I understand things going slower due to the pandemic... but I cannot imagine what would hold a very large Priority box up for 11 days? Little chance of it being misplaced. It moved with no trouble from NY to OH from 7/14 to 7/16 then just fell off the face of the earth?
Are they just throwing things into a pile and getting to them when they feel like? Of course I'm afraid it was stolen.

Looks like you have 3 more days. eBay times down 10 business days from the moment you get that
Track your return ...
Thanks for shipping your item ...
The seller should receive your return soon
email from eBay, and then your return is deemed non-compliant and closes without a refund if your tracking ultimately disappoints and fails to deliver.
