USPS Priority Large Flat Rate Board Game Box not an option under eBay Shipping

I  have a Priority Large Flat Rate Box (Board Game) with the dimensions 23-11/6" x 11-3/4" x 3".  I would like to ship a sale in this box, but eBay does not give me the option to select it.  Instead it only gives me "USPS Priority Large Flat Rate Box" with the dimensions 12" x 12" x 5 1/2".  USPS.com still offers this RETAIL service for the larger Board Game Box on its website https://postcalc.usps.com/Calculator/MailServices?country=0&ccode=US&oz=23805&omil=False&dz=85083&dm...

and still provides the boxes for free.  https://store.usps.com/store/product/shipping-supplies/priority-mail-large-flat-rate-board-game-box-....

Can anyone confirm whether or not eBay would allow me the use of this box through its shipping service?

Has anyone used this box through eBay after February 2019?

This would mean the difference between $17.08 for the Flat Rate Box and approximately $38.16 for my own box (Priority or Parcel).

My last option would be to walk in to USPS and pay the retail, then fill in the tracking number.  However, that is not something I would like to make a habit of, if I don't have to, especially when the Retail insurance is only for $50 at the post office vs. $100 through eBay.

Can you verify that you have used this option for the Board Game Box?

I have used it a couple of times.   It is indeed just a Large Flat Rate box price.

The USPS has 2 different Medium Flat Rate Boxes and 2 different Large Flat Rate Boxes.

Actually USPS has 3 LFRB's

The standard 12x12x5 1/2 one and the game board box can be ordered through USPS or picked up at your local PO. The side load LFRB wasn't very popular so was discontinued except by special order, but if you have them they are still usable at the LFRB price.

You just choose "large flat rate".

The label covers both.

Re: USPS Priority Large Flat Rate Board Game Box not an option under eBay Shipping

I came upon this thread because I didn't see the 24" box option when I went to print a label and wanted to know what other sellers had done in this situation.  I phoned eBay customer service and was told that eBay doesn't give shippers all the mailing options offered by USPS, that eBay large box labels can be used only on the 12" x 12" x 5" box -- not the 24" box -- and that if I wanted to use the 24" box, I would have to print a label by going directly to USPS (and of course lose the eBay discount).

If anybody has successfully used the 24" box with an eBay label, please let me know.

An on-line LFRB label can be used on all three versions of the LFRB including the game board box.  Whoever told you that they could only be used on the 12x12x5 box was clueless. I have been buying and selling on eBay since 2004 and working for USPS since 2000.

Second that. The Flat Rate Large label is valid for any shape of USPS box carrying that designation; there is no further distinction by size or shape.

(Actually I'm pretty sure that more details on the time and day of the conversation with CS would be needed in order to determine exactly who messed up, but perhaps a general reminder could be sent out with tips on Frequently Wrong Responses or something like that, to which this incident could be added.)

I'm pretty sure that there are only two versions of the Large FRB.  You can see them on the second page of Notice 123, as well as on the usps.com pages for ordering supplies.  If you go to the label purchasing pages on Click N Ship, you'll see only one option for Large FRB labels, same as on eBay shipping.  I suspect that the CS rep was relying on old eBay information that just never got updated after the introduction of the "game board" box.

Hi everyone, I would say that since the price for these two packages is the same that the flat rate large label would be fine to use. I was able to find confirmation of these prices within the USPS DMM. That being said, eBay Customer Service would not be able to speak to all of the available services or package types that a courier may offer; since this box is somewhat "retired" (in the sense that it is available through special order from USPS based on the research I've done) it makes sense that a member of Customer Service would give guidance to use the label only for the package type we have listed within our system.

Again, the label in question should be fine to use for the package type in question based on it's shared definition as a Large Flat Rate box, with no price difference between shipping costs for the two packages. I can't say this with certainty, but it does seem fine based on what I've reviewed and the advice presented here by sellers.

Far from being "somewhat retired", this box is available just like any other when ordering free Priority Mail supplies at usps.com. As noted above, when purchasing postage through Click N ship at the usps site, they do not differentiate between this box and the original Large FRB.

The underlying problem here is that eBay has never updated their shipping pages to encompass this box, which is one of the newest of the available free Priority Mail packaging items.
