Packing Peanuts

Where are you buying your packing peanuts?

I am looking for the best deal around for static free peanuts - on line.

I use 20 cubic feet once or so a month at around $45 and really need a better price if there is one.

Thanks in advance!

For me I found that Uline has the best deal and their customer service is awesome!

Last time I purchased from them, a 20 cubic feet bag antistatic they were $26.00 each. That was awhile ago.

They also have lots of packing material that is good quality and at good prices.

Hope this helps!

But Uline also charges an exorbitant shipping fee, even though they use their own trucks -- unless you spend $300+ or pick up at one of their regional warehouses.

That $26 bag of Uline packing peanuts will probably end up costing $50 with shipping and tax (if you don't have a resale license).

Have you tried calling your local movers and storage facilities?  Some of them are happy to sell you supplies that they get in bulk at very low, wholesale prices.  Some just aren't... but call around and see what happens.  You might also have a manufacturer or direct supplier in your area if you're in or near a large city.  Good luck hunting.

My local UPS store has them for about $5.00. straight pickup and go item.  I am not sure what it amounts to in cubic feet but it is a bag about 4ft tall by about 18-24 across.

Though I don't use packing peanuts much, I never pay for them ... just find a store near you that receives them as part of their incoming shipments, and make a deal with them to haul off their peanut trash.

Another place in USA is Staples for the anti-static type. Approx 35.00...7 cubic foot with free delivery.

Try your local Freecycle - often local companies will advertise if they have packing materials to get rid of.  I've also haunted loading docks.

Here packing peanuts from the USPS are about $45 for the 5' high big bag.

Sorry for the bad advice. I truly feel badly for that. I should have checked my invoices closely. For some reason, I was given a huge government discount on all of my orders. It may have been due to the fact that I worked for the military overseas and there used to be a special rate/address is all I can attribute it to.

I am really not sure though. My 20' cubic bags ended up were only $24.50 each shipped. Maybe a mistake on Uline's part.

Next time I see question like this, I will make sure what I say is accurate. If I would have really paid attention to the invoice I would have saw there was a huge discount given and would not have posted what I did. I will be more careful next time.

Sorry again everyone for the bad info.

I have a great source here in Delaware. $20.00 for a 14 cubic foot bag of biodegradable peanuts with pick up from Mid-atlantic packaging.  Another local company will deliver for $21.00 per bag if I purchase $100.00

I know you are not near them but look in the phone book or google packing peanuts local.  YOu may be surprised what is available near you.
