hi all
been reading that shipcover insurance doesn't include reinbusment of shipping cost if an item is loss.
So I'm assuming including shippi g with the price ...ie free shipping, would be a way to get the full cost back (item cost plus shipping). Any thoughts?
thanks steve

OP I would go with a 3rd party insurer such as ShipSaver rather than USPS insurance.
They are very easy to deal with in terms of filing a claim and I'll bet they are also cheaper than USPS.
And the best part is that a company like ShipSaver (or U-Pic) will insure for the full value of the transaction regardless of the value you declare on customs form - USPS only insures based on the declared value that is on the custom form.
I'd worry that a package going to Italy with a declared value of $600 might attract sticky fingers.

The tax is 3% of the insurance fee, not 3% of the insured value. So the tax on $1.65 would be 5 cents ($1.65 x .04 = $0.0495).

@partial*eclipse
Thanks! (The cost table doesn't say 3 percent of what amount.) Appreciate the clarification.
So as a seller, you need to charge your customer $2.30 in handling fees or increased selling price in order to recoup $1.70 after eBay ($0.23) and PayPal ($0.37) fees.
