I recently sold a used item and on my listing I selected the 'no returns' option. I also stated on the listing that I would not accept returns due to the type of (physical) item I was selling. The buyer opened a request for a return stating the reason as 'he has changed his mind'. I refuse the request and send him a message to politely explain that I had stated no returns on the listing. He has since replied with the following:
"This is not acceptable, under the sales of goods act I have the right to return goods within a reasonable time scale. For you to state you will not accept returns is not legal. So I will be requesting information on the return address and a refund of my money."
Could someone please advise where I stand. I am not happy to have it returned.

You don’t need to do anything. Under eBay policy you weren’t required to accept the return. I wouldn’t worry, if he filed with PayPal and he admits it’s remorse you can actually win. If he says it’s SNAD, he may decide not to return it when he finds out he has to pay for return shipping. I doubt he will pursue legal action over something as petty as this. I would do nothing at this point. You are in the UK and if he’s in the UK he is right about consumer protection but it’s not something eBay will get involved with. He’ll have to take legal action.

Buyer is wrong. You have a no return policy, and since he stated as the reason for return, ‘changed mind’, that is a ‘remorse’ return, and you do not have to refund him.
