USPS Back to Normal?

For those that suspended selling until shipment issues were cleared up, I'm happy to report that, at least for me, things are seemingly back to normal.  For the first time in several weeks, I'm down to ZERO in-limbo or significantly late shipments.  In fact, I have no outstanding items shipped before Jan 11.  Not everything is lightning fast, but everything is moving fairly well.

One caveat - I don't do much shipping via media mail.  I still send out some items MM - but I've (mostly) switched to first class or priority, only using MM for items that have a margin significantly impacted by using FC or Priority.

Of course, I'm not telling anyone to list.  Everyone has their own comfort level/risk tolerance/margin pressures.  For me, it makes sense to ship/take the risk of refunds from late shipments.

Also, don't think that I didn't refund any shipments.  I had to refund four shipments from early Dec to early Jan.

USPS Back to Normal?

I don't agree. Not normal. Better.  Some areas I'm still seeing delays. Media mail has been great for me throughout this mess so that was never an issue for my packages. Mostly priority. The larger the longer it took

I'd say things are about 70% - 80% back to normal. Still have a few late December shipments missing in the system, but all of the late November and early December packages have been delivered.  Current packages are getting to the distribution centers more timely (no more warehousing) noticed a lot more missorts / missends than normal.

I've had no troubles, even during the holidays... and I use USPS exclusively. I'm glad to hear your good news, too!

USPS Back to Normal?

I still have many coming to me stuck in Warrendale PA, finally 1 of those moved after 3 weeks it moved to Springfield MA and next day was sent south again to Jersey City. I am in Maine. Many items I have bought and sold are still in limbo mostly in that same facility *(Warrendale). These go back to as far as Dec 10th, and include 1st class and media, incoming and outgoing both. I can not say anything is better yet from what I am seeing.

Improving but not back to normal for me. No more stuck packages at the moment, but I sent 2 packages at the same time that are going to addresses about 50 miles apart. One was delivered 2 days ago (2 days late) and the other has not been scanned since it left local distribution center.

USPS Back to Normal?

I am still having some trouble with my USPS FC packages stuck in distribution centers for 4-5 days.  Other packages are moving somewhat faster.  Thinking about relisting all my items in the next few weeks to give it a go.

Yes, not back to normal here...multiple packages in "limbo". Especially first class. My local Postmaster said there is nearly 100 trucks in this area (Kansas City) sitting full of packages waiting to be processed.

Same here. I shipped three things on the 12th (two Priority, one First Class) and two of them (one of the Priority and the First Class) were delivered on the 14th, despite the First Class one going clear across the country. DC to OR in two days.

I still have one in limbo from Dec 18th, but everything after that point has been delivered in a timely fashion.

USPS Back to Normal?

I still have one that has gone into hiding in Miami since Dec 20.

Beyond that I will now see what happens.

Accounts have been on "time away", but I was messaged by a potential buyer requesting that I let him know when my vacay is over as he wanted to purchase a item that I sell.   $24 item.

Told him that due to the USPS delays that I/others had experienced, that some were still experiencing, I was not sure when I would reopen.  The buyer was only Zone 3 from me, so what I did was, in the reply , use the  "send offer". Told him that it may/may not work to purchase. I did not want to totally reopen the account.

Even with the account on "time away" by using the send offer, the buyer was able to purchase.   Paid. I shipped. USPS scanned pick up.  Got the departure event. Got the Regional facility scan. Now wait 'n see what happens. I expect it will be OK.

One more inadvertent test.  Last night I forgot to extend my "time away".  In the wee hours, shortly after it all went live again, someone made a purchase.

I shipped. It has an carrier acceptance scan. This one is only going one state away, but last one to there took over 7 days.

Some packages are delivered before on time others late still, most priority mail taking 7-10 days. Have one package get scanned 25 times, just running back and forth from St. Louis to MI, I'm lucky the buyer has a sense of humor about it.  PA is the worse, half my packages are/have been stuck there, one just got delivered today after 48 days.

Philadelphia has been the worst location for me - but hard to tell from my small sample size (four shipments in December).  My non-GSP int'l shipments have been slow, but not as bad as I thought.  I had one package showing sitting in Chicago for one month, but buyer tells me that the shipment is awaiting their payment of duties in Sweden.  A couple of shipments are lagging in getting to final destination in Italy.  With my direct int'l shipments, I'm usually sending a medium size 20 pound box, so not sure if that makes a difference in speed.  GSP has been running smoothly - things seem to reach the export center in KY faster than anything else that I send.

I sell hundreds of items each month, one made it in PA after 48 days, then another one open to PA today. I stop international sales in '16, just got too high risk for not much profit

USPS Back to Normal?

I currently have 7 item not received cases opened in the last 2 days.  USPS is not back to normal by any means.  The beginning of January everything seemed to be moving again but now shipments that I made at the beginning of January are all going into the 3rd week without any movement.   Not sure why it's back to this now but it is for me.  I ship around 40-50 items a day.  I think I have more cases open now than I did in Mid December.
