USPS 1st class 21+ days to deliver

Per there website.

I just did 5  traces and got were run by Looney employees and we don't care message.

Let's be honest people is it really worth all this to sell on eBay any more?

As of today. NO.

Glad my store sub ends in 30 days.

Closing store. 2020 the year politics eBay's greed with MP & now the Looney post office. All equals dead man walking.

Re: USPS 1st class 21+ days to deliver

At this time, as would be expected, USPS is woefully understaffed due to the pandemic and terribly overwhelmed due to the increase in packages.

How could this be blamed on eBay other than the fact that eBay (and other online sites) is offering people the chance to receive their Christmas shopping via the mail?

However, you are, of course, free to make the decision about whether to stay or go.

Re: USPS 1st class 21+ days to deliver

Honestly,

I did have some issues a few months back with USPS but they were expected.

Tracking not being entered problem continued to be an issue.

Now I go in and get proof of shipping receipt 100% of the time and have had 100% compliance. I've never thought of the USPS folks in my area as loonies. They've always been helpful and professional to me.

I am sure some offices are functioning better than others.

As to not selling, considering awful sales, I may stop. Its Christmas season and crickets for me. Really don't care anymore if it eBay, or some other reason my item's are not seen. I am not selling vintage items for pennies on the dollar that I can sell else where without the hassle. I use eBay for one reason, I can work from home. I will stop selling here when it isn't productive. It will be all a business move, not any anger towards eBay.

The only insight I would give eBay, I do not buy here if I do not sell here.

You present this as though eBay had some kind of control over USPS or was in any way responsible for the way USPS runs its business.

It doesn't.

I don't know how you think eBay would help with packages that are not moving through the USPS system.

Re: USPS 1st class 21+ days to deliver

I agree, I do not hold eBay responsible. Also, to make clear, USPS works great for me.

In addition I believe, eBay has ALOT more control to do something about it through communication with the post office and all shipping providers. The evidence shows this by frequent announcements by eBay related to this issue.

It is no sweat off USPS bottom line if they lose me as a customer but USPS would face an unwanted financial hit if eBay sellers had other options that met their needs.

By all means it is in eBay's self interests to communicate and negotiate with all shippers with the goal to facilitate the best deals and delivery service for eBay members.

In conclusion, I agree eBay is not in control of USPS but does have a negotiating position and should use it.

Unless, of course USPS does not want our business. I do not believe that to be true as evidence with my communication with USPS.

Regards

Wow do uniformed.

eBay has a contract with the post office. Duh.

So yes the post office not delivering packages or 21 days late affects eBay. Duh

It sure seems some humans literally site on this site and do nothing but say the opposite of the poster.

👎👎👎

@etxj_36

Let me be the first to agree with you. If you feel this way, I think you're right to close your store. Good thinking.

Eb could extend EDD's, that is how they could help.

Or with a wave of the IT wand they could, as has been suggested on other threads, change the time frame for allowing an INR to be opened.

Now 1 day after the "swag".

Last one that I had the buyer opened an INR 1 day after the unrealistic eBay estimated delivery.   The item, per tracking, was in the buyer's state.  I provided the tracking to the case. It delivered the next day. Several days later, as the buyer had not complained again,  eBay closed the INR.  I dodged the bullet.

Re: USPS 1st class 21+ days to deliver

eBay needs to put some pressure on USPS!

The problem is that you have those who will take advantage of USPS slacking off and if the package does not get delivered in time like it should, they will open a case, and if the package does not get delivered within the time frame of the case, you lose the case and money.

Even if the package gets delivered after the case, eBay does nothing for you.

Remember that USPS raised rates for the holiday season and they have lowered their delivery service. Never had this issue in the past!

I have 3 packages that were shipped on 12/1, priority mail, 2 day delivery. Still not delivered!!!!!

USPS 1st class 21+ days to deliver

That is the exception, not the rule.

Most of my First Class packages have been taking 4-6 days.
