There is a very rare book I am interested in purchasing and almost never see it listed for a reasonable price online. However, the seller that is selling this item lives in Texas and I live in California. They are refusing to ship domestically within the US, and are only shipping to the UK. Is this allowed? If so, why would this be the case?

Does the listing say they ship to the US?

No, the listing states they don't ship within the US and will only ship to the UK. I suppose I'm mostly just confused as to why this would be the case - someone who will not ship within their own country and will only ship abroad.

Sellers have the option to ship to wherever they want. I know that you want the item, but not much you can do if they don't want to ship to your country. And just because it shows them in the same country doesn't really mean anything, unfortunately.
Have you tried asking them directly? In a polite way? Maybe they have it set that way by mistake.

Got it. Thanks for your response.
I reached out and asked and they said they wouldn't be able to send it to California. I've never encountered this before, where a seller ONLY ships internationally and not domestically - doesn't make much sense to me but it is what it is.

Just curious @uncannyvalley123
Did you find the listing on the .com site or on the .co.uk site?

That's a good question. I was in the UK for a few days and was browsing ebay when I originally found it - so it must have defaulted to the co.uk site.
